Default Cool Airbox and Snorkle re-route

On my way home from work, I had an odd thought. For those with the SRI and FMIC, if CPE does make the cool airbox for us, is it possible to make a re-route of the TMIC snorkles directly into the cool airbox? The idea popped into my head after seeing a hayabusa on the road. I remembered how the busa gains an extra 5~10HP at the top speeds due to the forced induction of its snorkles. I'm not sure of the actual effects it might have on our DISI engines at speed, but theoretically, would it not reduce backpressure slightly as the turbo can spin a little easier if air is being helped to push through via simply driving forward?

Just an idea, as those with FMIC render the snorkles useless.

Can't hurt I guess. But that whole ram air concept was really for NA engines and as you mentioned it's not much use under 200km.

Well, aside from pushing air into the intake from the snorkels for HP, the other theory would be that this would bring in cooler air from outside of the engine bay directly into the cool air box, effectively making the SRI as effective and/or more effective than a CAI that brings in air from below. Besides, if the road you are traveling is a blacktop...and its the summer, I would expect the air at street level to be hotter than the air at hood level (even if barely).

Look at the Corksport FMIC design. They do exactly what you are talking about.

Well if you're going to do a SRI and a cool air box with a snorkle, it seems like you might as well just do a CAI to begin with.

Well, the major drawback of CAI is the fact that they draw air from the road (which can be fairly warm during the summer) and there is the potential to suck up water during the rainy season. SRI solves the problem of sucking up water by staying in the engine bay, but the air in the engine bay is hotter than outside, so the snorkel idea was to bring air from outside the engine bay to the SRI contained in the cool air box, but if Corksport already does that, then oorah. ( : I'll check it out.

**EDIT**
Well, I just took a look at the CS FMIC setup, and I find it odd that it is around $200 cheaper than the CS TMIC. I don't understand why. / : Installation photos appeared to show a full length CAI hooked up to the RAMAIR. I REALLY want to use the CPE Nano with a cool airbox...so I think I might go custom job on this project. However, thanks for the info, Teacher. ( :
