Honestly look at the price of that kit from a vendor then look at how much it would cost to source all those parts seperately it's well priced.

We are still testing the intake manifold. We tend to over engineer and we want this product out, but want to make sure that we do not have any failures or issues. We care about our product and the community, this is why it is taking so long for us to finalize this product. We appreciate the patience and enthusiasm. We will get this out as soon as we can, but we do not have a timeline as of yet. Here is a preview of the IM we are testing in our Project Bulldog car now.

@www.cp-e.com; That's awesome. This is definitely something not to be rushed and certainly looks quality I just hope it's nearing it's final stages. I really like the attention to detail like the posts for a tmic. I will definitely be interested in buyihg this when it comes out!

This IM reminds me of Duke Nukem Forever: in development for forever, always right around the corner, and always changing form.

Looks good. Any input on why the runners appear to be so vastly different volume-wise? My first thought was so that more air went into the hotter cylinders (3 & 4), but wouldn't that make for leaner conditions, and thus hotter temps in those cylinders?

Larger orifice = lesser air velocity as well. And turbulence in the IM is ?!!?!

This looks like it's using HVAC principles for moving air, and that is probably a safe/smart avenue of approach.

(And if the head is the real limitation, the intake and exhaust sides will yield minimal results.)

If i could just get even flow over all four cylinders, it would be awesome. Maybe fewer people will burn up cylinder 3

The IM acts as a system, those are not 4 separate runners. The Tapered design favors flow to the "forward cylinders," so the "closer cylinders," have slightly longer runners to make up the difference. Once the system is pressurized however, its less of a "flow" of air, and more of a "wave" of air. Pressure moves in waves, but air also carries momentum, so i imagine there is a reason more than 1 IM out there utilizes this design.

I've been around the car scene for a while, but i'll not pretened i'm an engineer when it comes to fluid dynamics... That being said, snarky as i have been in this thread, i'd like to believe CP-E knows what they're doing.

Voltwings I think you have a strong understanding of the internal combustion engine. The way it was explained to me years ago is that all plenum style manifolds at WOT act like a chamber and this chamber or plenum if you will the air that is within it acts like a solid until a valve opens or because of all the pressure waves of air that bounces off the other closing valves is actually helping with filling the one cylinder that has the valve or valves opening. And in this case since there is one throttle entry point the manifold must be shaped accordingly to offset cylinder imbalance.
