I don't even get how a community as cynical as MSF is so hopeful. Like shit does everyone really want the manifold, or do they just want for it to be released just because. After market support from real racing companies comes to cars that people race.
The MZR motor is used in the caterham spec series, formula ford, and spec miata series.
Hence why you can build an entire motor with cosworth parts.
Only a handful of teams went racing with ms3.
They big platform that will evolve into a spec racing series is the BRZ.
Fuck, the whole wiring harness has one connection from chassis to motor that needs to be disconnected to pull the motor. It was well planned to go racing with.

We've been promising upgraded side engine mounts to people for some time. In fact, its been 2 years. We figured what with all the other side engine mount posts, we'd throw ours into the mix – it makes us look "topical".


As with most of our products, we /really/ try to do things differently, and these mounts are no exception. For instance, most companies will announce a product shortly before its launch. But not us. We like to announce new products YEARS before ever producing them.

They're special not only because of the tremendous wait <strike>engineering effort that went into designing them and sophisticated the manufacturing techniques</strike>. but also because the part is functional and attractive.

In fact they have attracted hundreds to this “go no where” endless thread.

This upgraded engine mount set really has no compromises except manufacturing time, and I'm excited to share a little information about what went into making these suckers.

First, I should mention that this project was all created in CAD space. This stands for “Consumers Aggravated by Delay”

We used a very sophisticated Faro Arm which is more or less a mobile coordinate measuring machine. We can "map out" the engine bay, obstructions, as well as the maximum amount of hype and delay time it takes to actually launch a CPE product.

You can see one of our employees below mapping out the engine bay before he begins any work designing the mount: he figures sometime in 2011.

But wait, there's more! We also wanted to give you a glimpse as to how these mounts will be manufactured. These mounts will be welded using our twin robotic welding cell. We prefer to use robots to do our welding because they're so consistent. Unfortunately our robots are on strike.

And none of the components will be cut by a human either. Two years waiting should be proof of that! All of the components will either be laser cut, CNC machined, or CNC bent, or remain strictly in our dreams so again all of the components will have nearly perfect fitment. Even the welding jigs will be CNC machined, which makes this a 100% CAD based project. That's special because we've taken the majority human error out of the production.

In fact, we’ve taken it a step further, we have taken both the HUMANS and the PRODUCTION out of it!
