I got this PM from them a few weeks ago. They sent it to me after I called them out at dodging the manifold thread lol. Here it is:

Unfortunately we are at the mercy of the vendor that are producing the manifold. We cannot give a specific date, BUT we can say that it is in production, how long that production will take is up in the air. All the revisions have been done so now it's just the waiting game for us. Believe me we are just as eager to put this on the market as you, but at present our hands are tied. We would LOVE for you to wait for ours, but understand if you cant.

Still makes zero sense that they are not trying to build any hype. They could even drop some data comparing it to other manifolds as a free teaser. It would be far better marketing than a shared response to a PM after they were called out privately.

I believe their production schedule has already paid the price for their lack of vision. Let us hope their product development and testing were spared a similar fate.

They're clearly not bringing this to market anytime soon. They would be bending over backwards for everyone to know about it if they were, a al Corksport with their puppy power turbo. They would want to try and make people in the immediate market for an IM wait. The fact that they're not saying a word is enough proof that its not coming anytime in the near future....and by the amount of time its been, likely at all.

You finished all the R&D and now your at the mercy of the vendor who happens to have your CAD dimensions so you're just going to wait 5 years until they decide to run your batch?........................... Yeah, ok

Can't really compare CP-E to somebody who "tests" products while they are releasing them to the general public. Typically testers receive beta versions to confirm there are no issues. The turbo you speak of has no proven testers or real data. All cars are not tuned or have had issues that testing could not be completed before the release.

All information on this IM has been leaked and nothing spoken by CP-E. They will release and provide information when they are ready. Although 3+ years is not rushing anything to the market, but they will post information when it is ready. If that day ever comes.

I didn't say anything positive about the Corksport turbo, and you can read in other threads where I state how I feel like they rushed the release for the exact reasons you just said.

I was simply making a point to say that Corksport made sure their market knew that they were planning a release, and for what it was (more or less).

There's no way in hell cp-e is just going to keep completely silent and then all of a sudden make a thread saying "Intake Manifolds are complete and in stock and ready to buy and ship immediately!"

We aren't civics or mustangs. Every single piece they are able to sell is going to matter. If they knew they could potentially pull a couple more sales by announcing an official date, whether its a release date or not, they would. Or they're retarded.

This is another great reason NOT to do business with China.

There are lineups of people that will pay for that dp. Clearly cpe is not in business to make money.

I wish I knew a little bit about the business of manufacturing and casting. But, seems to me, that if your vendor is not meeting agreed upon schedule, you should find another vendor that will. How much more would it cost if it was manufactured in USA instead of China?
