There was no issue with the old design so owners of the previous design need not worry. We incorporated the Mazda fix for the smoking turbo.

Everybody and their uncle has an aftermarket intake + there are already many choices yet for some mysterious reason cp-e chooses to spend time on this re-design bullshit rather than focus on the intake manifold, beats me....

Methinks it might have something to do with my email correspondence with them about mine disintegrating from I think- oil (no catch can) after 60,000~ miles. I went to install my meth kit and pulled the intake off to find it had turned into jello on the inside.

I then sprayed pre-turbo meth and it literally started launching chunks of itself into my turbo.

Chemical resistant silicone? LOL.

$210 is kinda high for just the TIP considering a full 3" intake from another vendor is only $75 more.

Although i do like the game called "just the TIP".

What exactly is redesigned?

As an owner of the previous Nviscid, is there something I should be worried about in the near future, like @Gr8Speed; mentions?
Is the silicone used for this TIP different from the previous one?

The redsign was mainly to incorporate the mazda fix for the smoking turbo.
There is nothing wrong with the previous design or the silicone. The Silicone in both designs is the same.

The advertising material is not noting the elements that have been redesigned, just the features of the TIP. It is just stating that the TIP is constructed of reinforced silicone for maximum durability, no lie there. The advertising would note that additional reinforcing was added for increased durability if that was the intent and part of the redesign.

Incorporating the Mazda smoking turbo fix is just changing the design to match the GenPu stock tip. To GenPu's this is not a fix and how it came. So it only makes sense to revise the TIP to match OEM setup. We know this is not a true fix for a smokey turbo.

I can see that is what the response will be. It is still a bit misleading. When you note something as "redesigned" and then have 3 bullet points after, deduction would say they would explain the redesign.

I think Mazda redesigned the factory TIP and moved the PCV closer to the turbo. They can't redesign this completely and have a vacuum pump, so they're using the turbo as a vacuum pump.

So yes, with the redesigned TIP there are less chances for your turbo to start smoking. The oil/gas vapors will be sucked into the engine faster and will not clog on the turbo upsetting its balance which later results in failed seals or even failed shaft.
