Not Ranked : 0 score i am waiting for a cool air box option before choosing an intake. since everything is on back order anyway. i was already waiting for COBB to come though with a cool box. but if CPE comes though, and the build quality is good. then that would work for me also.

Not Ranked : 0 score I will for sure buy an air box if it's available. Hey CP-E, if you build a SRI like the cobb SF, please do something different than cobb. The Air box could be that difference and YES I will buy it. I like your product and I'm sure that you will make a good SRI.

Not Ranked : 0 score Sure it's look good ! I'm 100 % agree with that. But the Cobb SF look good too. If CP-E produce the air box..... there will be a lot of people interest in that combo. SRI+Air box...impossible to hydrolock and cold air.....best of both world !

BTW, +1 on your sig regarding edits and MS3 impressions. I could have it written myself but would have had to mention that I occasionally edit my posts to cover up stupid things I said. Coldrice, there's always Autoexe if you have the bucks for CF.

Same reason I wont buy a CAI with a long metal pipe running over the engine. The less metal the better in the intake system IMO, excluding the intercooler of course, which should really have a fan. The radiator has a fan, the A/C condenser has a fan, but no fan for the intercooler. No experimental evidence for this, the effect may be negligable but until I see evidence either way, Ill go with my gut.

Not Ranked : 0 score It would be very nice if CP-e designs a none metal air box (for heat shielding purposes) for the MS3 which could provide positive pressure to the turbo under max boost. It may have to include a scope of some sort.

It would be in town/low speed where it would have an effect. Or sitting at a light for a while and then getting on it. All I know is this: I have yet to burn my self on a plastic part in the engine bay. I have many times burned myself touching a metal part right next to said plastic part. How much effect on performance/knock/egts I dont know..... but some. Plus, the more stock looking the better, I have yet to see a metal OEM airbox.

Not Ranked : 0 score I'm definitely interested! Now, I've got a Cobb SRI. I've seen the pics of the upcoming CPE unit, and they do look good. But, I'm happy with my Cobb and don't think I'll change it, unless there is a good reason to. In other words, it would be great if CPE does an airbox if it would work with either the CPE or Cobb. Of course, I understand that CPE probably wouldn't go out of their way to do this, but, if it happens to work out that way, it'd be great. Last edited by Speedie6; 10-06-2008 at 11:48 AM.

Not Ranked : 0 score I just talked to Jordan at CPE. Perhaps he doesn't know what somebody else said. But, at any rate, what Jordan said was that he is aware of this thread, but, its not something they have any particular plans on. He said of course they would consider it if demand warrants, but, its not particularly on the drawing board.

Not Ranked : 0 score I would think so to. I'm just saying that Jordan didn't sound encouraging, almost dismissive.

We've just got so many other exciting things that we're working on right now that I don't see us taking time away from them to work on an airbox. Of course as interest for the airbox grows, so will its priority. But we fully intend on making an airbox; I just don't know exactly when yet | ||

| Not Ranked : 0 score good to hear that at least it's in the queue somewhere. well, as long as an airbox is out by next summer. honestly, that's the deciding factor for me between the nano and cobb's sri. and between here and the 2 other major mazda 3 forums, I don't think there will be any shortage of demand for the sri or airbox. I would bet you could sell more airboxes than than turbo inlets as I would argue most (non heavy modders) would consider sri + airbox the least invasive of mods they can do. my 3 cents.

Not Ranked : 0 score Any way to make this airbox fit both Cobb and your intake? It seems to me that it shouldn't be too hard, as long as the airbox is designed to fit around the SRI and not be a one piece unit like the BEGI airbox.
