CPE unable to remove their locked Full Flash software from our ECU

UPDATE: CP-E is working on a solution to this as we speak. i have been in contact with them and they seem to be making every effort to work this out. i have been informed of what is going on and asked not to disclose any info untill something is worked out.

I understand the cpe customer service is lacking sometimes and esspecially on this issue untill this thread was made. since then CP-E has made efforts to resolve the problem.

I got a stand back way back in the day when it came out and gave full support to the CP-E team. Worked with Jake and he did my tune in Maryland. Got all the flashes and paid way more then I prolly should have. Well fast forward to today.
I understand the tech is obsolete and no one buys your shit. But to discontinue support for something like this is a shitty business practice. When you alter some ones ECU and put a lock on it so other people cannot access the content that obligates you to at least beable to put it back stock.
I called to get this done and the “excuse” I got was “o we used to do that but our computer is broke…. Take it to your dealership” well guess what fuck tard I did and they cant erase your fucking flashes. Then they tell me “o well, guess you need to buy a new ECU…..” WTF no you need to fix your fucking computer and put my shit back right.
Now I know “Chris Conner” is new there and knows nothing about the stand back but that it was a terrible fail of a product so I don’t blame him. And prolly has been told to say what the fuck ever to get people off the phone as to not run their bill up and poss bankrupt them. But come the fuck on.
I was told when I let these fuck buckets of cum flash my ECU they would reset it if it ever came up. Your company isn’t out of business and you should hold to your claims of service.

That's where the flash came from.. Your ECU reads as a Mazda MPS, not a Mazdaspeed 3.

I wonder:
1) if the dealer actually had the car, and been advised to update the ECU firmware. IIRC, back in the day, it overrode whatever was on it.
2) What if an Accessport is connected. You can marry it, NOT save original ECU firmware, unmarry. When you unmarry, it puts their OEM map for it. I have done this myself.
3) Bashing for supporting it? Come on, they at least help those with em. What if they told you to just fuck off, it is not supported?

1) i have taken it to the dealer the service person is a very active member on this forum and know the situation
2)the ap will not even attemt to install or download what ever map is currently on it.
3) they did kinda tell me to fuck off... they said our shits broke. go buy a new ECU cause we dont support the standback..

First off we are very sorry that this issue has come up. Our electrical engineering department has been phased out for 2.5 years now. We no longer have access to any of that R&D nor do we have the ability to reflash any ECU's that have been flashed. Please PM us so we can try to work out a solution that both parties will be happy with.
We have officially announced that the Standback and Flashes were no longer going to be supported, but that we would try to work with existing customers instead of just letting them hang out to dry. Again please PM us and we will start the process.

It looks like someone will be investing in ECUs....This is a big problem if customers cannot get the flash off of their ECU without full replacement. Dealers cannot remove the CP-e/Piasini flash, so this is going to be expensive to fix for CP-e.

if i knew they were going to lock the ecu i would of never got the flashes

all in all the stand back had my car down for 4 months total, 1200 dollar bench warmer, not including shipping

and a full year and a half of constant running issues, constant tuning, as it would lose the tune, i have literary hundred hrs tuning that thing, and countless wot pulls just to see wtf had changed ugg ..

then cpe would blame my car, and i would spend countless hours searching for nothing....

After finding out the electrical engineering department was being phased out I went and bought a used ecu off ebay, I think I got it for $180 then reflashed by a mazda dealership for another $50.
I will post up the correct part numbers for the ecu's I've found. I know the 09 gen1's are different than the others

Can't believe they would stick you with a locked ECU. That's just piss poor service, of course the standback was an awful tuning solution to begin with. Did it also have a Lifetime* Warranty?

* Lifetime = 1 or more years or until we say we don't want to support it anymore.
