(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hello all, So, I've decided to upgrade my motor mounts, and based on everything I've read, I've decided to go with CP-E (full disclosure: partially because my CAI is CP-E as well, and my OCD impels me to have matching sets). The decision I need help with is whether to use the stage 1 or stage 2 RMM. The reason I'm torn is that, as much as I would like the performance gains of the stage 2, my car is also a daily driver in Las Vegas, which means a lot of stop-and-go driving and that the AC will be running full-time about 75% of the year. Additionally, I'm a family man, so I have to consider their comfort versus my desire for "More awesome!". As such, if I go with the stage 1, it would be simply to use the 60 duro bushings for comfort's sake. Based on Grumpyjap's review, however, the stage 2 is just awesome, AND it comes in a sweet, sweet anodized black. But the vibe increase IS a thing, even if not substantial, and I am a picky bastard. Some people seem to say it's negligible, others cite it as noticeable, but all agree it's there. So, my question is this: Objectively, how substantial is the vibe increase for the stage 2 versus the stage 1 (60 duro)? TL/DR: Being picky and OCD, will the vibrations from the stage 2 drive me insane? Is the 60 duro stage 1 going to be a significant enough reduction in vibes to warrant sacrificing what the stage 2 has to offer? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score go jbr 88 dur. there is very little I would buy from cpe. not saying its bad, because its not. might wanna get a better intake too. read that one doesn't flow very well, if that one has the silicone tip. its only slightly more flow then stock. there is way better flowing intakes. but yes the rmm is supposed to be very good.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think its 70. read this. CP-E Stage 2 RMM Thrashed! so if you are looking for a quiet mount. don't thrash yor car or this will happen sooner than later. I don't have any problems with cpe. I wanted racecar vibes and strength.

Just sayin... ![]() OP: I can say without a doubt that for what you're looking for, the Stage 2 CPE mount is the ticket.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Normally I would recommend the JBR 88d dogbone, but in this case since you don't like vibes AND will be using A/C a lot I would go woth the CP-e Stage 2. I tried to find the durometer of the CP-e stage 2 but I can't find it. I assume it's less than 88a so it shouldn't be that bad with vibes after it breaks in. After the JBR 88a RMM died down the vibes were not bad at all.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for the replies, all. Based on what everyone's saying, I think I might end up just going with the stage 2. I did e-mail CP-E to see if they could actually give me a number on the durometer of the bushings, but who knows if they'll actually answer. Worst case scenario, I end up taking thatsmrgimp2u up on his offer. Thanks again! |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So, CP-E was cool enough to respond to my questions about the duro used with the Stage 2: "The Stage 2 mount has a 70 durometer bushing however the placement of the bushing is what makes the difference. The Stage 2 mount is actually smoother than the stage 1 70 duro." So, that answers that. Despite the (numerous) recommendations to go with the JBR 88, I'm going to give the Stage 2 a try. Thanks for all the replies. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Please let me correct you in saying when these mounts were first released cp-e™ did not use the loctite, HOWEVER now they do. Please do not take the screws out of the bushing surrounding plate. They are ready to rock right out of the box. Again DO NOT take them apart if you have any problems with them cp-e™ will warranty them. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I asked about this mount and was told I was wasting the extra $80. I guess you gotta weigh who's opinion is worth listening to. I probably should have bought it, but I guess I'll ride on my electric Ford Focus mount for now.....

| Not Ranked : 0 score I will have to end up with one. I liked the design and idea of two isolation points.

The Stage 2 mount uses a rearward piece (the piece that is just like all the other mounts out there) that has no bushing at all. It's simply a solid piece of aluminum. The forward piece (that replaces the transaxle-mounted OEM bracket) holds the only bushing in the mount. Regardless, the design is far superior to the one piece options out there, IMO.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Had the stock mount with Corksport inserts. Had the JBR dogbone. Now have the CP-E Stage 2. If you don't want a lot of vibes, go for Stage 2. While the JBR did it's job very very well, the fact remains it is one of the most extreme of the mounts and as a result, will transfer a lot of vibes into the car. Only reason I sold my JBR is because it was too many vibes for me considering 90% of the time, I'm driving my car like a normal person...not Because Race Car. The Corksport inserts did make a noticeable improvement over an untouched stocker and I never once heard the engine slap the firewall which I've heard complaints about on the stocker...but it was still pretty bouncy in there. Vibes were basically non-existant. Just installed the Stage 2 today and I'm already in love. You will have some vibes...but they are more "smooth" than the vibes I had from the JBR dogbone and for a shorter period of time on normal launches. On the flip though, the engine doesn't feel like it's bouncing in my engine bay. I'd consider it a very very nice mount for your average daily driver. It hits a good middle ground. That's just my 2 cents.

One of the best purchases I have ever made!! Like you, vibes are a no-go for me which is why the JBR lasted about a week before it was replaced. Had TRZ's in my Gen1, it was pretty unpleasant too.. If you end up TMM shopping, look very hard at the cp-e... another fine piece of gear!

| Not Ranked : 0 score I thought I saw this mount with two EPDM bushings, I see now that I saw it wrong. Thought it had a bushing in both ends.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The stage 2 is the only mount that uses the bushing in the correct orientation for best performance and longevity. I love my stage 2, no real vibes unless lugging around. Great mount and beautifully engineered. I believe they also use this mount on their race car.
