(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score just hang on to your standback!!!! A little update on standback capability came in from josh today, that i think all of us should be stoked about. theyve been working on a software upgrade that will allow us to see any function we can track with the standback in the form of a realtime gauge!!!! and this option is gonna be released fairly soon if i understand it right. with the standback, you'll be able to setup the laptop, pick the parameters and then instead of a running chart, you'll have a live gauge show up. I didnt get the complete 411 as far as how many and stuff, but josh was real excited and the idea of being able to monitor everything in a more traditional layout will be invaluable to say the least..... not to mention its pretty damn cool as well. anyway, i'll keep you updated on this as i hear more. |

| What kind of gauge will it be? I assume a digital gauge? Sounds to be a very good option, especially if you can dispay 4 or more sensors at once.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score digital would be good.... but for some reason i got the sense that it will have more options than that. i think this software is a collaboration with someone else, that will be offered for the standback. it may have more than one option for how its reads out. i'll try to find out more tomorrow. anyway, they said they had it up and running on a car today and they were all super excited about it. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score dont quote me on this, cause it may have not been officially decided yet... but my guess is it will be of the nature of the other upgrades. essentially free to current users, less shipping to get the SB back and forth for reprogramming. theyre constantly working on upgrading it, and for the guys that have already popped for the price... they arent gonna be made to pony up more cash as the product continues to improve. |

I really only need software too. The standback is on one usb port and then my wideband runs on the other. I just need a damn program to put the two of them together in logs. | |

I know that v3 when all said and done will have gps built into it for various reason, but im not running that portion of the standback so im not much help. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score This is what v3 will do GPS to monitor Gs and acc such as full 1/4 slips...very accurate ability to datalog your analog inputs...egt/af anything Ability to monitor all stock sensors....boost pressure/af/knock ect ect And obviously complete control over a/f, timing, meth, boost You can get CRAZY with this and i know the cpe guys are going all out this time around. EGT probs on each cyclinder, af guages, the ability to monitor the crank and do various calculations of it....and best of all, NO MORE FUCKEN EXCEL to graph anything. U data log and it automatically overlays graphs by itself. Add and take away whatever you want...rpm boost timing af...the possibilites are almost endless. This thing is slowly turning into what kpro is for honda. And i fucken love it |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Hey guys (Randy, sorry I'm late!) I wanted to add some more info here, and see if I can answer some questions. The new Standback software is currently being called V3 while its being developed, but we'll probably change the name to avoid the same confusion we encountered when we released V2. Anyway, to the good news. What we're going to come out with is in two parts: First is the new Standback programmer, and then we'll be releasing the PMP. The new Standback programmer is 100% new from the ground up, and we've addressed a lot of complaints and suggestions that we've received about the interface. This new version is without a doubt a tremendous improvement from the already very capable V2 version. Basically instead of having a bunch of unique tables pop up and clutter the screen, we now use a single table, and you may choose the table type on the left hand side. We also improved how quickly the programmer reads and writes to the Standback for even faster on-the-fly tuning, you can use "up" and "down" keys on the keyboard to add or remove fuel/timing/boost in real time, and of course now we've now added these new gauges. The new gauges are a part of our new data aquisition system, and we really haven't settled on a name yet. First we came up with PMP for (Performance Monitoring Processor), and then there was FDR for (Flight Data Recorder), and I think for now we've settled on the BlackBox. When combined with our hardware, the BlackBox uses an accelerometer and GPS sensor to track your vehicles performance. You can log just about any performance measurement you can think of: - Acceleration/deceleration in g's - Cornering g's - Braking distance - 60-foot, 330-foot, 1/8th mile, 1/4 miles times and traps (automatically calculated) - Distance traveled - Top speed ...the list goes on The BlackBox hardware also allows you to log extra analog sensors, and this is what Pale was referring to. What we've basically done it given the end-user the ability to make any gauge they want. ANY gauge. Say Joe has a SPEED3 with an aftermarket FMIC on it and he wants to know his intercooler and turbo efficiency is in real-time. Using our BlackBox, Joe can install temperature probes in the intercooler, enter in the scaling coefficients for the sensors, and make a custom gauge to be displayed that calculates efficiency in %. This is just one example though. How about a horsepower gauge? Well, we can measure acceleration using the accelerometer and GPS sensor, and if you plug in the appropriate equation into the BlackBox it'll log and display your horsepower in real-time. How cool is that? We're still working on the gauge templates, and right now we're shooting for a stock-style gauge. Here's a sample of what we're currently using: Honestly this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much to this new software that we're not even going to bother with any written documentation. Instead, we're just going to make a video of someone walking through all of the capabilities of the software, and how to use it. The video is finished, but I need permission before I can post it. I think that'll demonstrate how powerful this software is, or at least better than I can. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score holy fuck look at that a/f. if anybody says you cant tune with the sb their crazy.... it just takes some knowledge of the machine, and a little time. that log is the most badass log there has ever been on these boards chris. just on the a/f and timing alone. |
