I just put this on. only alittle louder than stock.
Easiest exhaust I've ever done. Looks great sounds great.
Crappy cell phone pic and vid. my daughter was hittin the gas for me.
Plus the tip is adjustable.

Nope new design, gives more options as far as the way the tip is positioned. Quieter than the previous model too. no drone at highway speeds either. I hear the road noise more than I do the exhaust, but when you get on it it sounds sooooo much better than the older exhaust. It's a bit more forgiving too so if the tip is not perfectly centered you can adjust the tip or go back through the exhaust and re clock pieces until you have it where you want it.

It was super simple to install on Pablo's car. It really helped having the ability to look at the tip and go "uh, maybe like a hair that way" a couple ratchets loosen, tap tap tap, couple ratchets to tighten.

It looks good, I'm reluctant to spend money on a catback.

But with both resonators gone before I got the car and only the muffler left, I've been keeping my eye open for a CBE that might be quieter.

So I wonder if this would be viable. Or quieter than Cobb's.

its only alil louder than my catless stock catback, unless it floored than alittle more.

Cobb: 1 resonator 1 muffler
Old CPE: 1 muffler
New CPE: 1 resonator 1 muffler

Someone help me use ricer math to see 2 resonators is quieter than 1 muffler without taking into account what kinds of mufflers or resonators are used at all.

Anyways, I don't see this on the CPE website, what is the price?

Well I know Pablo's dyno part of the tuner shootout where they recorded the dB's of the WOT sound his was somewhere around the low 80's I think. Everyone else was 93dBs or more.

Do you know how far away they measured it? The current one registered 83db @5500 rpm @ 50 feet when I tested. Engine braking it jumped to like 97..lol

I dunno man, I wasn't there that day just on saturday. Maybe @super_pablo_; could chime in on how far the meter was from the exhaust.

But honestly, sitting in the stands at the tuner shootout you could still hear all his drive train noises (clutch/transmission) over his exhaust. Everyone else was screaming as they went down the long straight.

late into the thread but Ill chime in on my impressions.

I ran the cobb downpipe+borla catback exhaust for a long time and I was really happy with the combination. I was a bit sad to remove the borla cbe cause it sounded so deep compared to anything else.

I put the cp-e exhaust and I was not dissapointed. The deepness easily matches that of the borla exhaust, yet it is even quieter... MUCH MUCH quieter at idle than the borla.

At WOT, it is about as loud as the borla, but it has a bit more of a magnaflow tone to it. In other words... sounds like a fucking race car.

at 3k RPM cruising speeds it is very quiet and no drone whatsoever. Its about as loud as my previous setup, although I gotta point out that I do have more cabin noise since I put my upgraded motor mounts... so, it could be that is is actually quieter, if everything else (mounts) woulda remain constant.

To answer the question about decibels, I was the quietest race car in the modified streetcar shootout competition by A LOT.
I cant really tell you all the numbers for the other competitors, but mine was at 81 decibels at approximately 20 feet. More importantly, I was also miles ahead of everyone else as far as NOX and HC emissions... so not only was it quiet, but actually functional, lol (though I guess that has more to do with the cp-e downpipe, huh?)

anyway, in short, the new cp-e catback was easy to install, quieter than my previous setup, and flows better (full 3").
It has a big tip too, which I find sexy (thats what she said). Not as big as the borla, but definitely stands out

To me it feels like my stock cat back is starting to drone more @ highway speed (40k) and don't want something obscenely loud @ idle & PT.. WOT can be as loud as shit, I don't mind..
