Palerider update thread.... 400, 450, 500whp here we come

I didnt make a huge deal out of my last trip to CPE. But it was a big one. I, along with the P3 guys....had a new medieval version1 mani, tial 44mm wastegate, GT35r, HKS ignition, dump pipe, Ported and polished intake manifold(with saikou michi cc, and vcts delete), No Cut flash, and cpe inlet...all lined up for install and testing on my car....

We were gonna get jiggedy on the dyno for sure

Well, after well publicized travails on the exhaust manifold install, it was a no-go.... we backed it up two weeks and i rented a "bulldog cute" enterprise dodge caliber for the ride home.

So.... in 12 days, back to CPE on jan30th... we now have another new version of the medieval manifold being fabbed to go on, AND a 3.25maf lined up. the manifold is a lock... i spoken with mike @ medieval daily. and a prototype maf is gonna be available too.

that means i'll have it all ready for the number weve been waiting for.

engine fully bolted
engine fully built
throttle, maf, and no cut flash... all standback tuned
gt35r turned ALL THE WAY UP... fuel is the cut off
meth kit... 100% meth ftw
medieval manifold to tial 44mm ewg
ported and polished intake manifold
hks ignition...just in case it matters

theres nothing in the marketplace or under construction thats been left out.... all in the hands of P3, CPE, and yours truly.

We want to find out where the hell the fuel truly runs out. If youre interested in where we stand then you might want to keep an eye on this thread.
my next thread will be a dyno thread. THAT we can look forward to. maybe whoosh will even crosspost it to the caliber forum....lol

Thanks guys... Im stoked. Its been 8 long months as this thing has slowly come together. i almost wont beleive it if it really happens.

In the back of my mind i keep thinking there will be something else to come up. but seriously... thats why P3 and i decided to work together. I think their experience on the car will be instrumental. i was gonna try to do this final install down here and post a number locally. THAT would have been a frustrating cluster fuck. So.... instead we get it done there..maybe get a dyno there too. if not back here is the place immediately following.

Either way.... I'll have dynos within 2 weeks.

I think loosh is coming down again that weekend too. If anybody wants to come out it should be a good time. I'll be coming in friday and leaving on mondayish again.

All of us up there are excited about what this may mean for the platform. I dont think its unreasonable that we could get a number far above what weve even been shooting for. it just depends on when i lose fuel pressure.... or even crawl above 12 a/fs. as far as im concerned 12.0-12.5 ... Im done. Im not interested in a bullshit number. i want to see where we "really" stand.

its actually in two weekends, not this one. and i am expecting inlets in by then. cpe said end of the month and that will be the weekend of friday jan 30th- monday feb 2nd. keep your fingers crossed.

All the best with this ... be sure obviously to have safety warnings as you push things so you know when to back off ... no one wants to see this end the wrong way because your cylinder temps hit 2000+.

hopefully the meth will help with that, but the manifold will be bunged for egt, and we will have a gauge by that weekend. At whatever point we see something yucky we will stop. No bullshit dynos for the sake of the dyno. Im driving this sucker home.

Well, my motor should be broken in by then and I might have to make the trip up and try to get some tuning done..idk i'm still way behind on the ecu and standback software. Also need to install the water meth kit...........umm so many things to do.

I'm curious to see what comes out of this. My strong belief for the reason this car does not "respond" to mods the same way port injection does is because there is a very specific design to the piston and combustion chamber that makes the car perform in stock form.

Once you alter that you mess with the stratified air/fuel mixture around the spark plug and you just don't make the power you expect. I am curious how these aftermarket pistons will perform.
