(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hey guys, I'm sorry the tow plate and nano updates have been thin lately. We've just got a lot going on, and we're waiting no a donor vehicle before we can wrap the project up. I'm told that we should be getting a MS6 to play with on Friday, so hopefully we can wrap up the majority of both those projects. Thanks for waiting patiently guys!! |

With P3 next door, there should be no more excuses on the lack of donor vehicles. Just kidding guys, keep up the good work. You said at the beginning of December that you were not going to be around much over the next month, so no apologies required. The update is much appreciated.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for all of the offers guys! One complicating factor is that the MS6 has to be pretty much stock in order to get good design info from it. Cherryspeed was kind enough to drop his car off two weeks ago, but we couldn't use it because he had too much custom work done to it. I have good news however. I spoke with a local customer of ours and he's going to be bringing his MS6 over tomorrow! So we can finally get rolling on this. Thanks for being so patient guys! |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yes, and couldn't have done it without you ![]() Update! Despite our relative silence we are in fact making good progress on the Nano and TowPlate for the MS6. The image above may not exactly represent the final product as we're still continually tweaking the design. We're in the process of making the first MS6 Nano. The TowPlate is also coming along nicely. Driverman was kind enough to loan us his car so we could take some measurements, and we are having some pieces cut so we can build the first example. I'll see if I can sneak some pics of the first one once we put it on a car. Thanks for your patience guys!! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The only difference between the MS3 Nano and the MS6 would be the mounting bracket, right? If someone bought the MS3 unit, could they later get just the bracket? Looking forward to the tow plate. |

![]() Actually, that's what I thought going into the project, but there are a couple reasons why we can't just create another bracket for the MS3 Nano and call it an MS6 Nano. I thought the project was going to be a 1-2-3 deal, but it's gotten a bit more involved. The bracket - As you said we can't attach to the same mounting location on the MS6 as we do on the MS3. If we delete the bracket then we have one less mounting point. If you buy a turbo inlet that doesn't have the top tab bracket, then the intake is just being held in place by the turbo flange. So that bracket really needs to be there. Creating the bracket for the MS6 Nano was far from straightforward because it's pretty long, and has some awkward bends in it. The breather - The breather on the MS3 doesn't work well on the MS6 so we need to alter the placement. I still need to finalize the placement of the nipple. The housing - On the MS3 the Nano is more or less one of our CNC aluminum MAF housing with a breather and a bracket on it. We can't just use a housing on the MS6 because it would block the intercooler pipes for our FMIC. Moreover it was much tighter in that area so we decided to put a short bend before the housing which places it further away from the FMIC piping and the rest of the clutter in that area. You can see the bend before the housing in the pic above.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for the response. And, also, thanks for continuing to support the MS6. I indeed have some CPE parts already, the catted DP, the rear diff mount, and the rear motor mount for my wife's regular 3. Also, if was to buy again, I'd probably buy your rear mount for the 6 instead of SU's, but, I already have theirs. I am also certain I will buy your tow plate and your gauge piece when it comes out. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score i have an ms6 that i installed an ms3 nano on. car runs great and works fine and all but after reading this i'm curious. its not mounted to anything but feels real sturdy and has a lil give in the elbow for engine movement. underneath the metal bracket that holds the bottom of the stock airbox theres two bolts that hold it down. thats were i intended to fab up something to reach the mounting tab on the nano. which as you said is gonna be long with awkward bends in it. the breather hose fit fine with a lil persuasion and its not kinked. are your concerns based on fitting the fmic piping or is there something wrong about it. it works great and i intend to add the TIP soon. just didnt think their was anything wrong with retro fitting the ms3 model to my ms6. that is until i read this. please inform. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Unless you make a mount for it, I wouldn't recommend their TIP. The filter needs to be mounted for a TIP that is not fastened to the motor, IE cobb or cp-e. There is nothing wrong with running the ms3 nano on the ms6. They are just spending the extra time, as cp-e always does, to make sure their products fit and mount easily for a clean look and install. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score i know the cobb TIP has no tab but the cpe does as well as RPMC and HTP. though is one mounting point enough. i only have one now since i still have the stock TIP. i check it often and it always feels secure. the fitment of the ms3 on my ms6 is a lil generic. but as long as placement of the breather is safe i'll make adjustments to make the bracket work. as well as replace the breather hose with silicone. just wanna know that the return on the maf housing for the breather hose is in a safe location. its safe for the ms3 so should be as well for the ms6 right. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah, I am trying to patiently wait for this, but it is so damn difficult. I have been thinking about this or the cobb intake, but I like how the nano is aluminum and not plastic. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'm here, I'm here!! Sorry about the radio silence lately guys! We've got a lot going on and I've been more involved with some development work so my time for updates has been a little tight as of late, but here's the latest... I'm working on digitizing the MS6 Nano that I fabricated the other week, as well as the TowPlate. If I can get the digital information today, Anthony said that he'll start machining the welding fixtures immediately. Once that's finished we need to machine and weld all the parts together, which will likely take a couple weeks. I think the TowPlate will be released first only because it we already have the cold-rolled steel backing plates, and we still need to machine the threaded shafts. The Nano on the other hand is going to require some bends and a pretty wicked fixture which will take some time. I think we'll have the TowPlate available before the end of next month, and the Nano will probably re ready shortly thereafter. I don't have anything picture worthy yet, but give me a week or two and I can post some pics of these things. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score What does one have to do for a preorder. I would like to get one of these when they are released in the first batch. I'm hoping this will by the end of April but who know with cp-e's schedule. Pale, do you have the option of oiled or non-oiled filter or do you only get the oiled ones? |
