Question about Bolt on TMM
 

I have the 60 durometer transmission motor mount and while working on my car, I noticed it looked like one of the bolts going into the transmission is not all the way up against the bottom of the mount. This was verified by sticking a key between the bolt head and the mount.

Interestingly, it appears this is as far in as the bolt goes. It doesn't go tighter. I'm guessing I torqued to spec when I installed and just didn't notice the small gap. Car is not symptomatic of any problems but now I worry about this bolt.

Question is, can someone else with a CPE TMM take a look at theirs? This is the bolt on the bottom plate that sits on the transmission towards the front drivers side of the mount. You can see the two front bolts without removing anything unless you have an airbox.

IIRC when i had my jbr tranny mount they gave you one bolt that was shorter. Not sure about the cpe though

So, if I remember, this bolt was one supplied by CP-E. You removed the stud that was threaded into the transmission and used this bolt instead due to clearance issues with the body of the mount.

I still had that stud permanently stuck in a socket I used to get it loose for ages on my desk. Don't see it now though. lol

BTW, going to be super pissy if I have to pull the car apart again to fix this. I've had nothing but problems with the car these last two weeks and I'm quite sick of sweating my ass off working on the car instead of driving and enjoying it.

I remember 1 bolt that was a bit shorter when I purchased mine. I didn't understand at first, until I took the stock one out what it was for.

Edit: mine seems to look a little different...

So, here's my fix. Took some washers, cut out an opening so I didn't have to take the whole mount out, slid em in, and tightened it down.

We supply a shorter bolt for this. Did you use the stock one instead? Let us know if you used the supplied bolt but are still having an issue. Feel free to contact us at support@cp-e.com

Weren't all 3 mounting points originally studs threaded into the transmission which then had nuts threaded onto them? If so, this has to be the supplied bolt that replaced the one stud the instructions have you remove for clearance.

If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. That's just how I remember it but it has been about a year.

yeah, you removed one stud and replaced it with a supplied bolt.
