(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I had recently purchased a StandBack V2 used from a member of another board and was waiting to install it looking for a deal on the PNP harness.Well I finally gave up looking and purchased the harness from another sponsor on this board.Well I happened to be looking through the same vendors site and saw where they had lowered the price on the PNP harness by over a hundred dollars.I have to be honest and admit I was more than a little pissed seeing that but figured I'd see what they'd be willing to do for me.So I got on the phone and proceeded to get through to their cutomer service and he said he'd look into it and call me back within a couple days.Four days go by and not having heard back from them i decided to give them another call and got the same guy.Gave him the whole spiel again and was put on hold, finally had to work my way up the chain and got to the STREET BOSS as it were. Now mind you when I had called the first time I had only had the harness for 2 weeks and hadn't insatlled it as yet. When I talked to the fore mentioned STREET BOSS and described my problem he said that there was not much he could do as the prices were set by the mfg. but he might be willing to give me $50 store credit.I said to him that I couldn't think of a store nowadays that didn't offer 30 days price matching and that what he was offering wasn't acceptable to me as his customer.I stated that I would just ship it back and reorder it at the new lowered price he just said that since I had the product for more than 10 days they wouldn't accept it back and would not give me return authorization number.I further explaned to him that I had purchased about $13,000 in parts from theri company within the last 6 months he didn't seem overly appreciative to me and just restated his position.I further explained to him that when a company basically sold other company's products that all they really had as a product was their customer service and that when the customer didn't feel they were being serviced they would find another company to do business with in the future and that they were nolonger the only ones providing this service. This is the same vendor who never once replied to me concerning sponsorship that I had applied for not once but twice.......it would have been nice to know why they weren't interested and if nothing else to at least know they weren't interested. The reason I have been so long winded here is to let you know how different my experience was in dealing with CPE. I finally installed my StandBack and PNP harness and it seemed that there was aproblem with the software communicating with the the StandBack itself. So I played with it and played with it and there still seemed like something just wasn't quite right. So I got on the phone to CPE and got through to Jordan and explained to him my problem. He thought that maybe the StandBack I had bought used might not have been updated to V2.So he sent me a basic adjusted tune that he knew worked with the V2 software and sent it to me.Needless to say it didn't work right,so I got on the phone with Jordan again and we got to talking and I was asking how much to get it upgraded and he said it would be $60 since I wasn't the orginal purchaser whcih I had no problem with.So I went down to my car to pull it out,I had mounted my switch and led permanently and when trying get it out I pulled a wire out of the harness and couldn't get it back in.So I now boxed up my StandBack and the PNP harness to send off to CPE.I called Jordan the next day and explained to him what had happened he said no problem and they would get it fixed and he would let me know if there was any charge. As we were talking I explained to him about my purchase of the PNP harness and of my being unhappy about how I had been treated by one of his vendors. He seemed genuinely concerned and asked me if I could fax him a copy of my purchase invoice to him.I did and a little later he called me back and said he didn't think the way I had been treated was fair and that to try and make things right with me they were going to do the upgrade and repair the PNP harness plus ship it back to me for free.To say I was blown away by this is very much an understatement, when I was explaining my situation to him I was not expecting this I just thought they should know how I had been treated by one of their vendors.I mean I bought the StandBack used from a member so I knew there might be a risk,I bought the PNP from a vendor and not CPE so they didn't owe me anything. To say that CPE stepped up to the plate is not merely enough praise in my book.I won't go so far as to say I will buy anything CPE makes for our car but I will say this.If I purchase anything for my car in the future made by CPE I will buy from them directly or through Palerider, the level of cutomer serivce they showed to me has earned enough respect from me to want to support them anyway that I can and I'd rather see the profit in their pocket than in the STREET BOSSES pocket anyday of the week.Thank you CPE for being the company that you are you have helped bolster my confidence in the business world. I wonder if the STREET BOSS would be happy to know that since vowing to never buy from them again I have since purchased the CPE Pro-Fuel Controller,Fidenza lightweight flywheel,Turbonetics T3/T4 hybrid turbo,Tial 44mm EWG,Labonte meth system and am looking for a clutch to go with the flywheel and am also looking for pistons rods and gaskets seals and head studs and othe miscellaneous things.I hope he chokes on his hundred dollars......oh and no the puchases weren't made from that Fla. company.
