Default Are you interested in buying an extended warrenty for CPE Parts!

Now this is a new idea I have started to discuss with CPE just recently. The conversation was a certain products like the HPFP they sell, and if you where to buy it second hand without the help of the person you bought it from for warranty issues, your kind of well, SOL!

What i'm trying to accomplish is keeping the savings as much as possible for certain for sale section or local hand me down CPE parts, and to be warrantied by purchasing a small extended warrenty through CPE if wanted for piece of mind.

The gentleman I spoke with I believe Chris, or whoever the head guy over at CPE was yesterday, "sorry", liked the idea of doing a said extended warranty and wants to bring it up in the next weekly meeting.

If your interested in something like this please post the product you would like to see have an extended warranty option for, and or if you think this would be a positive idea for us as a big selling forum and Mazda owners in general.

Ill start.

I would like to see an extended warranty for the CPE HPFP and I believe this would be helpful to others as well.
DaDoctor likes this.

It sure is. And if we can keep the cost of the warranty down, we still get the great deals on them in the for sale section and or a local buy.

Is there anything else that gets sold second hand that people wish they had an extended warranty on?

Thats a great idea.

I see it like this...its free money for CP-E because they should be designing parts that last and stand the test of time anyway, so if the parts are made correctly this is just more money in their pocket and incentive to not cut corners.

Great idea, it would also be great to have this extend warranty be good on parts like downpipe or cat back.

I myself bought a pre-owned cp-e catted downpipe and it would nice to have the security knowing that if something goes wrong with the product. Than I will be taken care of.

I know they are extremely busy, but I want this thread bumped. When I talked to them they seemed intrigued by the idea. This thread needs to be seen. Even if you see the same thing you suggest, thank the OP to show the value of extended warranties for CPE parts. They need to the interest.

I don't want to be the one to shit in the Wheaties, because this sounds great - but what if the previous owner was running 100% E85 and gunked the shit out of it and had it apart for multiple cleanings, etc.?

How about if CP-E would agree to buy the part back at a pre-determined MSF.org price and then offer it to only MSFers at a reduced re-certified price? If the part sent to CP-E was shit, they could return it to the "donor" and say no thanks.

Just to toss some bogus numbers around, lets say a new pump is $700. CP-E agrees to buy fully functional pumps back at $400 (minus ~$15 if they have to return to sender for a shit part). CP-E recerts the pump and offers it with the standard warranty to MSF VIPs for $550. Tweak the numbers as needed to make everyone happy, if plausible.

There would still be a market for people to buy used and at your own risk, and then there'd be a market for some peace of mind and something in CP-E's pocket as well.

I think those details would be made up in the actual said extended warranty. This thread is based on them just excepting said warranty in OP. If or when they decide to, I'm sure they would have a proper way of giving said warranty with there own failsafe to ensure the warranty is even available to the new owner or if they want it to be returned and remanufactured for you.

I gotcha. I was just trying to think through the business side of it and the pitfalls they'll likely discuss, and tossing this out there as an additional talking point so it has a better chance of happening.
