Default Hesitations/ stumbling on latest updates

I dont know how related this is, but I have had several people contact me about it and I have felt this on my car too:

There is a small miss/ stumble sometimes since the latest update. Most have it happen around 3000 RPM but some have had it happen around 5000 RPM as well. This even happened on otherwise unchanged maps that were simply updated with the new ATR.

Looking at the update on the AP manager it looks like this last update just had the addition of the ADM speed. But maybe they messed up and added something from the ADM maps to the USDM maps?
I'm just speculating at this point. There seems to be no way to roll back the update for the AP manager but you can roll back the update for the ATR.

Thanks for the thread Bucker. For some reason, I have a mental block on thinking it may be the software rather than mechanical / map related.

I would have been chassing my tail for sure.

I didn't experience any at first either, just throwing that out there. I would say like two days later is when I felt it for the first time after updating.

I had this problem happen yesterday too! Second time starting her up after flashing the new map... The engine would bog and loose power at slow speeds. I just about shat myself thinking my car was going to finally zzb. Drove home slowly but once the car was warm the issues seem to disappear.

Will see if the same happens today on my way to work.

@trf5000 was able to get a log of it happening and it looks like the car is going super lean for a split second then going back to normal

Post up ATR and FW versions. This will make it easier to troubleshoot and keep track of this.

Attached is a cleaned up log and the original log. The 'miss" occurs near the end of the original log. This is crusing on the intersate with cruise control on.

I had posted a thread about this about a week ago. The car is jumping into idle loop causing the AFR to jump then goes back to normal. Everything else stays the same and no CEL's. In all it takes less than a second for this to occur.

This is what I had too!!!!

What is happening is that the car is going into IDLE loop when it is crusing. This has happened while in open loop too.

Here is a link to my thread I Created, log is attached on what is happening.
Need help! Misfire... I think

When I flashed to an older map that was made with the older version the stumbling went away. I rebuilt my new map off this older map and the stumbling has not shown up for last couple days. If you have an older tune still saved try rebuilding your map, just copy and paste between the two with two ATR windows open.

Glad im not going crazy!!!

@Bucker

I second this. So i just flashed back to my v6 map. This is the map that i was using before the newest AP and ATR update. Just put 30 miles on my car and no issues smooth as glass.

Add me the list as well. Feels like SWAS is cutting power even when the wheel is straight. Very intermittent but very noticeable.

Ztnedman1 - We can see your car going into fueling mode 256 briefly (1/20sec). This means the car believes it is not up to operating temperature to run in closed loop mode 512. Do you have an aftermarket thermostat installed? If you could take a log and add ECT to the mix, we can see whats going on during this time and try to figure out a solution to help.

Thank You,
-Braden @ COBB

Stock thermostat. Was an hour or so into my drive so doubt it was operating temp issue. After a few days I flashed to a ptrvious map and it went away for 500+miles. Rebuilt new map off of old one and havent had the issur for last few days 200 or so miles. Overall its been a week or so since ive had the stumble and only on one of my maps despite it being almost identical to a prrvious one(.5 psu increase at 5k was only change)

I thought it was just a corrupt map file, but see others having the same issue after update. I wonder if it only effected current maps that were modified during the update

I have had this happen maybe 2-3 times since I have had the car for a year and 18k miles.

It has not happened on the latest update.

I do want to say, each time it has happened, I believe I was not at operating temp yet.

It basically felt like the engine died for a split second, and then came back.

See mine feels like it happens only after the car has reached operating temperature. And it is very intermittent at that.

My 07 has been doing the same thing. I didn't realize it was after me updating the ap and ap manager..

I have tryied to log it multiple times, but it happens very rarely.

I now log EVERYTHING. But it seems to only happen when I'm in first or second gear and when I kinda get on the throttle. Not WOT, but like 50-60 app.

I thought my fp internals were failing, or I had a coupler that popped out.

I will post up my software info when I get to my computer.

Edit:

same versions as the others.

I've had the same hiccup about 5 times in the last two or three weeks (I think). Feels like hitting a puddle for a split second. I also have the same version of ATR, and presumably same AP firmware (didn't confirm).

ive been having this "hiccup" as well. i feel like it didn't start until the latests update but im not 100% sure, both my AP and ATR are 100% updated. originally i thought it was from moving my cruise afr's to 17:1 for fuel economy, and well it still could be that. BTW it is most aparant when the motor is cold, but will still happen once or twice a trip on the highway when warm, which is really only where i notice it happening, 6th gear on the highway

I have been driving my Tacoma because I dislike the hiccup so much.

It's happening on my MS6 as well. I've taken some logs, but haven't had a chance to look them over yet. Nothing shows up on the AP (I assumed knock/misfire/etc...), but it's like a slight, momentary stumble/loss of power when at constant speed. It happens anywhere between 2500 and 4000 rpm for me if I'm staying at constant revs. It seems more exacerbated towards the low end of that rev range though, and less prevalent higher up.

I'm running a stock thermostat (recently replaced).

I have something like that as well, gen 1- only in second gear around 30-50% throttle, stumbles and feels like it just shut off, then resumes as if nothing happened. Maybe once a day when I take it to work(70 miles round trip). Tried logging it but can't reproduce on demand. Started after the update, of course thats also when I installed and started tuning all the stuff below. I also post shift after fire now.
