When your a customer your affiliated. Which explains why I defend DJ to an extent. I'm just saying this thread should be about Erich's car making 700 whp. Asking how much his build cost is a valid question anyone would get asked on any car forum. Of course no one ever tells lol.

I also thought about offering to do CSR work for PTP here, but that would require me to give up my mod position. And despite what several individuals would like people to believe, I take those responsibilities as a mod seriously and believe I serve this community better being a moderator than doing CSR for John at this point (serve the interests of the community rather than just the interests of a vendor.)

I will not control any man or woman to express or share opinions with others. The second I start messing with the statements of others, it pulls away from who they are. A customer defending us is not a representative of us, its a representation of them. Does SpeedSixxx sound a little crazy at time, yea... maybe. Does this mean he collects a pay check from us, no... hell no (LOL). With the internet people get butt hurt all the time. I see people defending tuner xx or company xx and I know details about them (tuner or company) that might change the opinions of those looking at their services or parts. Do I share my opinion, no and for good reason. You will never change the minds of some people, no matter how nice of a "guy" you are, they are just hell bent on being an ass and dragging you and your name into the trash can or defending you and your name until they are crucified on the forums. Now when people make assumptions that one person or another is part of "us", well we all know what making assumptions can do. Erich has used or services and bought our parts, he has a right to share his opinion. SpeedSixxx has used our services and parts... he has a right to share his opinion (about us). I have nothing to do with HPFP, PTP, Erich or anything else you may think. I express my opinions on certain matters (MY OPINIONS) and I defend whoever I want whenever I want... So please do yourself a favor and me and don't hold HPFP or anyone else accountable for what I state as my opinions.. Funny thing is I've been apart of this forum for years now... I read all the BS and all the stories about what has or may have happened in the past so like I said I have my opinions and I have all the right in the world to defend a company or man who I think is being unjustifiably accused of nonsense or other shenanigans. as for Silversurfers IM.... anything I say on that matter is obviously my opinion buddy and nothing more but one or two things I know for fact about it... 1. it was ugly as fuck 2. it flowed like SHIT with the TB off at the flow bench (for a custom IM) 3. another dudes IM flowed over 300cfm WITH THE TB ON @ the flow bench... I can say and will say what I want about it.. and the fact that it's not for sale to others SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. good day

| Not Ranked : 0 score @SpeedSixxx you are not corporately affiliated but some who make an investment IE purchasing parts from a vendor will sometimes try to defend that investment plain and simple. this sometimes get to the point of personal attacks and the like. I agree you can do what you wan't its your right but it doesn't belong in this thread is what I'm saying. Now if every PTP bashing argument ends up with you defending them and bashing people then I can't help but associate you with them because it's always you it seems. Just the way it is IMHO. Nothing personal I just don't like bullying / holier than thou attitudes from anybody take that how you want.

I guess lately I have been getting into it when I don't have to, I know it's not my place but when I feel I should write something I do. It's only human. I am a bit shocked that I come off as holier then thou and shit... that's not my intent and I really don't think that way. I usually agree with what you say but I have to defend Scott on this one... 1. Function > form 2 and 3. Where are you getting your information? Flow numbers vary even more than dyno numbers and are easily manipulated so comparing numbers is meaningless unless the tests are done on the same bench and the conditions are very well controlled. Scott's manifold flowed a full 25% more than the stock manifold he tested in his comparison... but in reality that's not even the most important number unless every other flow restriction has been removed. For 99.99% of us, the flow balance is far more important than the increase in flow and Scott's manifold reduced the variance in flow between runners from 16% to under 3%. Think about it this way: The leanest cylinder is generally going to be the one that defines your limits for timing and AFR. Every cylinder gets the same amount of fuel and the same ignition timing (could change if COBB figures out individual cylinder trims). For simplicity of this example assume that 12:0 is the minimum safe WOT AFR and the flow ratios on the bench are the same as the flow ratios on the car. The leanest cylinder, flowing 239 units of air, requires 19.9 units of air for a 12:1 AFR. The other cylinders flow 233, 212, and 207 units of air but still get 19.9 units of fuel which makes their AFRs 11.7, 10.7, and 10.4. How much power do you think the cylinder running 10.4afr is going to generate compared to the cylinder running 12.0 AND flowing 11% more air+fuel mass?? I'd also like to point out that your observed total afr would be 11.2:1 ((239+233+212+207)/(19.9*4)) even though the true limiting afr is 12.0:1. Simply balancing the flow and leaning out all cylinders to 12.0:1 would give you a solid increase in both power and fuel economy at WOT. Bottom line: Scott's design is very good and none of the issues have been his fault.
