Default BNRs3 w/e85 411awhp and 397awtq, 351awhp and 365awtq tuned by atvfreek

Hey everyone, Just gotta say a big thanks to atvfreek for my awesome tune. We just finished it a few days ago and I plugged in the data log to Virtual Dyno and couldn't believe the amount of power my car had. I've heard these are pretty accurate too. It even had the weight and everything already plugged in. Just had to add my weight as I'm a pretty big guy at 270lbs and 6 feet tall. The final numbers were 411awhp and 397awtq on 3 gallons of e85 and 351awhp and 365awtq on 93oct. So it's deff possible to get 400awhp on the BNRs3 and I'm not even at full boost (@24.5 now). Gonna get Devilsown meth in the next few months so I'll have enough fuel to add more boost and gonna need some rods and pistons just to be safe. Just wanted to give thanks and share atvfreeks talent with the mazdaspeed world.

It that the peak potential of the BNR? And i wonder if the same results are possible with meth rather than corn.

Awesome #'s with the bnr! However, dynojet correction factor is always easy on the eyes, use 1.01 correction factor.

No it can run up to 27psi but atvfreek said its most efficient at 25-26psi. I'm limited at my IDC right now so with meth I could run a little more boost so maybe another 10hp maybe? Either way very happy with it and would deff recommend it to anyone. The BNR has been on for 3k miles so far and holding up just fine.

yea I used what someone recommend on the VD thread. the 1.01 knocked it down to 380awhp and 368awtq which is a huge difference. Yea I like the dyno jet one more lol.

CF 1.01, to my understanding, isn't quite as accurate for the MS6 as it is for the MS3. I can't recall what testing showed, but I remember that it was a higher CF. @dale_gribble

Either way 380whp on a ms6 with the little bnr is VERY impressive. That's a shit load of torque for the stock motor. Do another e85 pull i want to see how both pulls stack up.

Do a 4th gear pull. I noticed these are all 3rd gear. I want to see how they compare if you dont mind.

I made 417 on my BNR so it is a very capable little turbo.

The BNR is most efficient at around 22psi. But you can run 24 for a ling time and not kill that turbo. Running 25+ in the summer, the BNR probably wouldn't be too happy. lol

Good numbers man. But I think the Dynojet CF kinda skews things. I know I use a CF of 0.99 because its what matched up for me when I hit the actual dyno.

Good numbers either way.

Quick question, what are you guys with the BNR running your spark plug gaps at? I'm using .025 right now and wandering if that's too small.

Yeah i love my bnr even though im only running 20psi (because 100k miles). 20psi on the k04 and 20 on the bnr is very noticable difference.

No problem, that one would be also ok
I just want compare logs with mine as I have very similar setup.

see my above dyno chart...my tune is very very conservative and im running a catted downpipe...either way you can see how the bnr out flows the k04....by redline there is a 50hp gain.

Ya, CF=1.xx in VD isn't a blanket one size fits all. The best we can all do is run the dyno, and then run a few 3rd or 4th pulls on the same day/same conditions and normalize the VD for our personal setup so we can judge how we are doing against our last dyno pull (until our next pull).

My dyno runs on a Dyno Dynamics AWD dyno were within a few HP/TQ of Virtual Dyno default DynoJet CF. I know others in other parts of the country that have used DynoJet default CF and the numbers definitely seem to be too high. VD numbers for a given CF seem to skew more as the HP setups get higher.

The only thing I can say after reading a bunch of empirical data is Speed3s and Speed6s seem to have different CFs to align correctly with their respective dynos; I don't think there is one CF for all Speeds that covers everyone IMO.

Very nice numbers.

I am a bit under all that with very similar mods on 93 and 4 gals of e85. Wonder if its the ETS TMIC and the stock catback that I need to ditch to pick up that extra power that you freek pulled out for you.

Sorry guys been busy at work and haven't had time to respond. I'll see if I can do a 4 gear pull tomorrow as it's suppose to be really nice where I'm at for the time of year. Here is that log btw. There was a little bit of knock on this one.

If you're going to build your engine, get some good solid rods/pistons and a big stupid turbo. I am currently in the process of building up my parts list for my engine build and personally am going with a GTX3076r. I wanted a BNRs3 but I wasn't going to build an engine for it, and for ~$8-900 more than an S3, I think it's a good price. You can easily pull 400hp out of the 3076 without even making the thing breathe haha. But my end goal is somewhere around 500hp.

As for the OP, very nice numbers! I bet that thing pulls so hard. I was in a speed6 not to long ago with a BT and it was like being in a damn rocket ship from a dig lol.

This brings a grin to my face because I'm going BNR S3 in a couple of months and I have a Meth injection kit sitting in my garage.

Nice... I'm gonna get the Devilsown meth kit in a few months but really need to get rods and pistons to support the extra power. Yea I wanted to go with the 3076R as well but my ko4 went out and I didn't have the extra dough laying around so I just went with the BNR and couldn't be happier. And it comes down to it I could always sell the BNR and get the 3076R later on down the road. Yea its nutz off the line really hoping to hit low 11's if not high 12's now (wishful thinking) seeing as I have around an extra 100+ Hp.

Correction: low 12's if not high 11's (wishful thinking) lol

Im going for about 450 to the wheels when its all said and done, but by the time im done with the build ill be too broke to buy a BT. I'll be dogging the stock turbo for awhile haha The biggest upside to the six is the low gears.......no to minimal wheel spin.

Upside to the six is the awd not the gears. I'm pretty sure the gears are almost the same. lol and yea ZERO wheel spin lol

I should have elaborated. When i mentioned low gears being the upside, Its because of AWD. Where as the low gears are somewhat useless in a speed3 making decent power, or any at all lol
