there's only a few small areas with body filler...i'm not too worried about it

I wasn't the body guy but we had something like flex agent (used in paints) for adding to filler to fix bumper covers or other flexible body parts. If not used, the shit cracks open like RoRo's ass at a Saturday night rave.

That's why most shops will not repair those things or else they make it real clear that it's a temp fix. We've used fiberglass reinforcement strips on the back to keep them together but even they give out after a while.

make sure to not rush the sanding part. esp when doing the final sanding. the guide coat really helps. ive rattle canned a few things, the one that turned out the worse was a body panel. i got all the rust out, and then put some bondo on the low spots and it looked perfect when i sprayed a light primer. it wasnt until i was spraying on the final top coats when i saw the tiny scratches in the finish. so make sure you sand really well with the fine paper. do it once and do it right. as my shop teacher used to say "a paint job is only as good as the prep work"

Philly when you get the leak taken care of...

Finish the wet sand with like 1500, then follow up with something like meguiars 105 and 205. 105 will remove the sanding marks and the 205 will polish it to a high gloss.
