So does not change from what you are already hearing. If you want to mute your forge, get a HKS.

Actually I'm afraid of fucking with my current sound. I love the way it sounds! I don't want to reduce it in any way.

What size is it? 2.5" 3.0" bigger smaller in between? Great price if it hooks up to a bigger turbo.

Necks down to stock size, so i think that is 2 or 2 1/4 inch. You will need a different inlet for a ATP setup or anything larger then stock.

does the inlet pipe work with the SPEED6? Or only CPE inlet works with speeds?

The MS3, MS6 and CX-7 all have the same stock part. It'll fit. I don't know why Cobb hasn't yet listed the part officially for the MS6, maybe wanting to do some testing first.

Default Installed Cobb Turbo Inlet.

It was harder to install than I thought it would be. There is not a lot of room to work with even after removing everything. Removing the clamp on the turbo was not easy because the oreintataion of the clamp made it hard to get to. Like others, my stock inlet was loose but I did loosen it some more before removing. When I reinstalled the clamp I changed the oreintation so It could be reached from directly above but even then I had to hook three extentions together to reach it from above. I'm not a mechanic, so If I can do it you can too.

The car seems to get into boost faster now, my exhaust tone seems to have changed, not sure if thats possible though, might be my imagination. The sucking sound seems less now and letting off under high boost gets me a chirp, sounds like a squirrel bark. I hope that is not the sound of surge but the sound of the pressure going back into the intake. Can't tell if there is any HP gains but if the boost comes in sooner then there will be a performance gain, but not be detected by dyno #'s.

There is no fastener for the Inlet but I was thinking about fabricating one with a clamp somehow, but it may be best to leave it unfastened so it can flex with engine movement.

Is anyone else getting a chirp under heavy boost and release?

Can anyone else with the Cobb inlet comment on the "squirrel bark" sound?

I have the cp-e turbo inlet which is similar to the cobb (silicone made)....and my BOV has gotten quieter...the sucking noise at WOT sounds a TAD louder than stock...but overall, the sound has gotten less than the stock inlet...kind of weird huh? who would have thought the plastic POS stock inlet can make so much noise

Everything seems louder with the Cobb Inlet for me, but I think it fixed a leak issue I was having with the stocker. The stocker was very tight on the turbo, however.

I just installed mine yesterday..Everything seems much louder to me.The BPV and hearing the turbo spool seems alot louder then before. It was so loud I thought something may have come loose but everything is very tight and connected.I like the new sound and the down low power seems to be a bit better but then again I put in my new CDFP at the same time so I dont really know what part is adding more hp.

Oh I just drove mine to work this morning, and I can definitely feel the improvement. Boost comes on much faster and smoother than before. Power is more predictable between shifts. I'm sure my gas mileage will suffer slightly with the turbo spooling sooner, but you gotta pay to play.

Thanks to Haltech for the awesome review/writeup. It convinced me to get this piece, and his step-by-step was a nice supplement to Cobb's oversimplified install guide.

I installed mine yesterday as well, and definitely notice the difference. I wouldn't say power is up much, but delivery seems somewhat smoother and I can hear the turbo a bit more. Also, contrary to what other ppl have said about the BPV, my forge seems louder than before, but the *ting* sounds a bit more like a whoosh than ninjas fighting now. The main difference, however, is spool time. My car gets into boost crazy fast now. Between the exhaust mani and the inlet, I can fully spool up with a tap of the throttle pretty much. I consider that a good thing, although I'm finding it a bit harder to stay out of boost when I'm trying to conserve gas.

RPMC sent him a free inlet to review June of last year. Guess he lost the data on a computer malfunction. Since then, the review never showed up and the inlet disappeared.

I want to say that It was inappropriate for me to post my previuos post because Haltec was not at fault. In all intents and purposes, he made an effort to do the review, but just couldn't recover the data. Also, as for the whereabouts of the inlet, I will leave that explaination to him. I made the assumption it was gone.

FWIW, you'll need at least 13" of extention if you are trying to tighten the inlet/turbo clamp from above (after switching orientation of the clamp, as cosmic stated). I used this method and it was way easier, I would think, than trying to fuck around with my hands wedged down there by the firewall. it was a bitch of a time trying to get in there to get stocker off and it was already loose.

But yeah, I used a 10" & a 3" ext and my ratchet head was right at the cowl weatherstipping. Another inch or two might be a bit more comfortable..

Other than that, a good write up (that I found after I did mine (used Cobb's)). Definitely should've put the clamps on the inlet side of dbl clamped sections prior to putting back in engine bay.
