Painting my white speed

Ok so i want to paint my white speed. i want to keep the white, knock off the clear, and layer a teal pearl on top. yes i know the white is already a pearl but i want it more dramatic.

There are a few ways to go about this and i would like to know which way will be best.

A) Just layer the pearl and then clear it

or

B) put a layer of pearl, clear, pearl, clear etc...

has anyone done the second? They used to do it and supposedly it makes the paint job have a lot of depth.

i have not seen the second and was hoping someone has?

Why don't you try the pearl white plastidip? That way you keep the original paint intact and if you change your mind, all you have to do is peel it off.

If there was ever a way to waste a ton of money on a car, a paint job is the way.

Cant uninstall a paint job to sell it when you sell the car to recoup the cost. Furthermore, youve taken a car that already has somewhat of a niche market, and made it even more esoteric.

it would just cost me paint. i own guns and work at a dealership. i can sand, tape, and paint the car for free. I get the paint for cost too. It's not about selling the car at a later date. I was asking if you would think it would look good, NOT your opinion on my resale. I hate how people talk and bitch about shit that has nothing to do with what i asked about. back to the actual thread. if you don't have anything to say about the color then don't comment. waste someone else's time.

I think you should paint it if you want. Personally though if I was going to paint it, I'd do something drastically different and nothing like what is available.

Why not use vinyl or plastidip? Its reversible and protects the OEM paint.

i want something subtle. My only thing is that the inside ia black and red (even though there are blue lights) i dont want it to look too much like 'MERICA...the process and cost won't be much a few hundred. and a few days. nothing big but i don't want to stand out too much

it's a tri stage paint job. white, pearl, and clear. All new cars have a thin layer of clear. most OEM paint jobs have .008" of paint to protect the car. i'm adding more layers of protection without going over the maximum thickness.

This is the wrong forum. Not saying there is not a member on here who knows about painting cars...but, it is not likely that you will find someone on here with that knowledge. Try looking for car painting forums.
