Torque Specs.

Hi,
Just wanted to say hi to the site. It looks impressive and helpful.
I am rebuilding a 2.3 turbo.
I have the crappy version of All Data because I work at home.
It doesn't have all of the torque measurement's.
Could someone please let me know the bolt torque sepcs. for the balance unit?
I took the engine and transmission out and noticed that someone has been here.
I wanted to check out the crankshaft while the head was getting done.
But I found connecting rod torque but nothing for the Balancer.
I got the head back and will start measuring the cam clearance to see what cups I need to order. But need to sock up the bottom to get ready for the head, new chains and guides, VVt.

Are you building the motor or are you using OEM rods and pistons?

If you're building the motor stout, go with a balance shaft delete. Its way easier than installing the balancer. You must shim it properly and make sure you have proper backlash or you'll be pretty pissed.

Torque specs are 19ft lbs first pass +32.5-33.9ft lbs final pass.

Shop manual is available online, including on MSF in the VIP section.

Hi,
I have a silly question. I took off in sequence the cylinder head bolts and placed them on the bench. I dropped off the head and picked it up yesterday. When I picked it up my guy said that there still were head bolt washers in the head and gave me what was left. The head bolts that I took out look like the washer is part of the head of the bolt, all one piece. Are there suppose to be head bolts and washers or just the head bolts? I know someone else has done work on this engine, maybe the washers are OEM and they used aftermarket bolts?
