Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) has released a new Heavy Duty performance clutch kit and components for the 07-09 Mazdaspeed 3, 05-07 Mazdaspeed 6.

ACT’s new clutch kit for the Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6 features a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate that incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides a 48% increase in clamp force over the stock unit.

The ACT Street Clutch Kit combines the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate and a Performance Organic Disc, a disc that features special performance organic friction materials to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel backed linings for high burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting. The ACT Street Clutch Kit provides increased pedal feel, smooth engagement and significantly improved consistency, durability and increases the torque capacity to 365 lbs/ft.

ACT Race Clutch Kits will hold 470 lbs/ft of torque. Metallic Ceramic Xtreme Discs are available in 4 and 6 puck sprung and un-sprung hub designs and are very durable while allowing for quick shifting. The Xtreme Discs are design for high power engines and are recommended for track use only.

*NOTE: All kits with the ZX4 prefix will include our SFI certified billet steel flywheel, MZ027 pressure plate, RB110 release bearing, AT03 alignment tool and your choice of clutch disc. When replacing the factory self adjusting clutch kit with the ACT clutch kit, the ACT flywheel must be used for the clutch kit to be installed.

All ACT Pressure Plates and discs for the Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6 are SFI certified. Kits include a new release bearing.

I have purchased the Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel through a group buy here a while back.Will the ACT clutch kit work woth that flywheel?If so is it possible to purchase the clutch kit without the flywheel?

I don't believe that it will as ACT would have offered the clutch and flywheel separately if they were interchangeable

To be honest the 6 puck sprung is still a VERY streetable setup at least on the DSM / Evo / Subaru / SRT-4 setups we are used to. I can't see why these would be any different...

Realize you just cut and paste, but the Mazdaspeed 6 was not available in 2005.

Also this is a pretty new set up...could you get some more specifics for us?
Flywheel weight, torque capacity of the different clutches, ect.

So far only Spec clutches and Fidanza flywheels have been available to us so that is what we are mostly familiar with..maybe a discussion about how these products directly comapre would be helpful.

I f I read it correctly you have to get the ACT flywheel if you want to ruin the puck clutches, that's why they're only sold as a set.. So, I assume they will not work with the fidanza flywheel...

If I remember correctly you also got on of the Fidanza flywheels,what clutch did you wind up going with?

I got the 3+.

The combos come with a SFI rated flywheel, I don't know what it is rated to though. The Fidanza isn't SFI rated as far as I know and I asked PG what RPM it was rated to and never got a answer.

The street clutch is listed at 365 ft/lbs of torque, which I don't think is very much more than what the stock clutch will handle.

Their only other options are all puck'd race clutches, but that isn't something I would want to run a dailydriver street car.

I paid $600+ for my Spec Stage III+, and its just the clutch pressure plate and throwout bearing, but it also is rated for 450+ torque.

Yeah the 3+ is what I've been leaning towards and its probably what I'm gonna wind up getting but not for a while yet my clutch is still fine at least for now.

To be honest I am not aware of an RPM rating, but DSM / Evo / Subaru guys have had them well over 9500rpms...

I'd get a set now, but funds are low at the moment and I wouldn't be able to install it for some time. It is deffinately the option I am leaning toward though. Now if you want a big pretty front page review of the product with your website links plastered all over it, that can be arranged

Haha sorry sir we have someone in house bump threads twice a day to make sure they stay visibile, after all that's what we pay for The way this forum is setup we can probably tone that back a bit though.
