Head hung in shame- destroyed by a Honda

I'm sure I'll get groaned all to hell but I was very humbled yesterday by a teal green Honda just cruising along down 95.

He was in the right lane and I was moving along in the left. I went by him probably about 90 and glanced over just to see. Nothing special (or so it seemed). Steelie rims, stock exhaust tip, dented up body, bad paint job, no wing or scoop or anything out of the ordinary. I slowed up for traffic a little and when I got a hole I dropped in to 4th and took off. When I did I noticed that this guy had swung out and dropped in behind me and was kind of keeping up. I took it up to about 130 before I had to back down for traffic.

This guy was still back there so now he kind of had my attention. I moved over to the right lane and he pulled up in the left and nodded. I checked the car out again and couldn't see anything of interest. I held up up my fingers for a 40 roll and he honked it off. The rest is history. This guy pulled a good 2 1/2 to 3 lengths on me and kept pulling. I never even got the jump on him.

We both pulled off the next exit and stopped at a gas station and chatted for a minute. He gave me props on how well my car pulled. He said he has a buddy with a stock white ms3 and said I kept up way better than he did when they raced. I hated giving him props but of course I did. He was a real chill guy and not your typical Honda ricer teenie bopper.

We talked about what we both had done and what kind of power we had. Apparently he claimed he was putting down 400whp out of a boosted/built b18c. He said he just got the engine back this week and it was the first time he had been out with it.

I felt horrible getting beat by a ragged out old Honda but either way that thing was making power.

Heh, for every 1 Honda you meet on the street like his there are 999 that are just riced out junkers driven by a teen as their first car. However, I always did have a soft spot though for folks that run around in true "sleepers". Cool you actually got to talk to the guy after the pulls and that he wasn't a douche.
