MS3 vs ZL1

I've been wanting to run my buddy with a stock ZL1 for some time now and today was the day. Needless to say I'm happy and surprised at how well I did, his car moves the fuck out.

Me: Mods in sig plus catless dp. I was on 23.5psi
ZL1: Stock with a 119.x trap track slip

Race 1: 40-110mph: He got the hit and stayed ahead, but didn't pull hard. He won by about 1 1/2 cars

Race 2: 50-100mph I got the hit, he started creeping up with him at my door by 100mph (would've kept pulling if we had gone longer)

Race 3. 45-120: Best run of the day. He got a slight jump and ended up a car ahead until 120mph

After the last race he goes damn that things fast! lol. Right before we met up he said his memory card for his go-pro was having problems so there will be vids next time!

I would say it would be close based on trap speeds. The weight of the ZL1 hurts it quite a bit, but it's a beast on the track.

I dunno...don't get out much lol. I need to start coming to some meets.

Actually I just looked at the logs from the runs and I only hit 22-23 psi from 6k rpms on up.

They are like the 5.0 just a few mods and they wake up a lot. My buddy has A 12' ZL1 with headers, custom exhaust, intake, and a tune. He's trapping high 120's low 130's consistently since the mods and tune. This is also without changing the pulley still on stock boost from the factory. They are quite heavy though

A bolt on tune 5.0 would be a damn good race for a stock ZL1. High 120's is no just with those mods. My buddy said he would gain 40-50who from just a pulley so your friend should do that next. Yea they're are heavy, but I had no idea they had a Ffs feature he told me just the older day he was using it. Lol

Never even seen zl1 on the streets yet. I saw one at atco as forum guys set up a stock for stock race btwn a zl1 and a 13 gt500. The zl1 trapped 114mph, the gt500 went 123. Personally I would never buy that car but that's just me. In my current state a stock zl1 would not even be close.

My buddies ZL1 was consistently trapping 118-119. The ZL1 you saw must have been auto. Either way I think you'd beat a stock one too.

It was manual as there were multiple videos of the drag race. I never personally saw one trap 118 plus. I always hear about very low trap speed for the power from them. Like I said they are so rare around here that I have next to no personal experience with them.

I dont doubt it. They certainly aren't the fastest cars in a straight, but they can hold their own in the corners. If you would like me to link his time slip here running 12.4 with a trap of 118-119 trap I wouldn't mind. Also, if I remember correctly he had a nice DA for that day.
