(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  My first Evo Evo VIII + Intake & TBE = still slow. Last night OTW back from the airport, I ran across a lowered white Evo VIII (I think it was an VIII?), which was up ahead of me. It was somewhat late at night, and the roads were clear, so I decided to be a dick. Being the troll that I am, I caught up and pulled even with him. I then proceeded to pace him (~35mph)... in 2nd gear. Needless to say the guy bit and I hear him open up, so I nail it. No contest, I immediately put length on him and keep on going. I get about 3-4 cars on him when he flashed his lights. I slow down as he catches up and the guy shouts across at me to make a U turn so we can line up. I oblidge. We turn around and he pulls next to me, asking how I wanted to start. I dont feel like snapping my stock rear diff mount, so I asked if he wanted to go from a 5MPH roll. He agrees, but at the same time I tell him that he can have the hit. I also make sure to pace a bit back, so my front bumper is at his front fender. We roll out, and the guy proceeds to do a 3 count honk. I dont bother listening to the honks, I wait until I hear him get on it before I go. By the end of 1st I was dead even with him. FFS into 2nd and I start to walk away at a decent rate. By the end of second he was a good car+ back and the acceleration difference is growing. There is a street light up ahead that was turning yellow, so I shut down at the top of 3rd. By this time I had a good bus length on him. He stops at the light, and we exchange niceties. I say good run, he tells me my car is fast then asked me what kind of turbo I had. I told him that I had a "reworked stock turbo" but he didn't seem to get it, so I just blurted out "GT28". Dude replies with something akin to "Oh, damn!". I ask if he had a stock turbo and the obvious "yes" answer was obvious. He then told me all he had was a TBE and intake. Quite honestly his car was pretty loud (could hear it over mine) and sounded like shit. Meh. On a slightly related topic, I was getting E85 when a black Evo IX pulled up to get some eth as well. Lopey as fuck idle, and loud as hell. Guy was busy on his cell so I didnt chat him up, but Id be willing to wager that would have been an Evo that could rape me sideways all day long. rfinkle2 likes this.

It depends on what it is. When I got walked by the clown shoe (turbo'd z3-m coupe), it was so much faster than I was at the time that I was just embarrassed and shocked. The thing had purple fucking halos and from a 50 roll made me look like I slammed on my brakes.
