Revolution Performance Motorsports Revolution Performance Manufacturing (RPM) was started by three Mazda 6 enthusiasts in early 2004 under a simple premise: to develop and manufacture new products for the Mazda 6 at an affordable price. We began to realize our purpose with the short throw shifter and gas hood lifter kits for that vehicle. Since then, we have added many new aftermarket products from well-known manufacturers and continue to expand to offer products for other vehicles with the goal of having the best prices and customer service on the 'net.

If the road is really bumpy the shocks definitely aren't underdamped. In fact they are bouncing over that would mean they are overdamped. At that point I would not worry about that. You could soften the rebound on these shocks which will help if it makes you uncomfortable. You cannot appreciate a nice suspension setup until you hit new pavement.

I think GC must set the rear rates so high in anticipation that most ppl wont have an aftermarket RSB? Could be a little high, but I imagine on autox/road course it's not an issue since the surface should be smooth.

Yeah, it's possible maybe the rears are overdamped. The road surface in St. Petersburg is horrendous.

But on smooth pavement, and on-ramps, it's so much improved over the worn out stock stuff it's absolutely incredible.

Even on my current setup (yellows/swifts ~37k miles), bad road surfaces can be awful.

I was impressed with SoCal when I was there. Though I was largely outside of Irvine. Wisconsin roads took a MASSIVE beating from this last winter. We had 3 NATOR guys blow out tires and two crack wheels over the winter. Though that could be fixed with driver mod.

I have a feeling this winter was brutal on most roads. There are a lot more potholes than their usually is.

Ya some cities such as irvine have really nice roads but our freeways are junk especially going anywhere near L.A.

your rear clunk could be from any of several things. rear sway endlinks, not installing the shock onto the top had securely, bad spring install, not setting the rear shocks properly, etc.

I don't know if this will be useful to any of you trying to adjust your shocks, but see this link for detailed instructions.

http://www.koni-na.com/comp.cfm

EDIT: we have P/N 8040 rear shocks

Does GC provide shock dyno plots with their kits? I'd be curious to see how they're setting these up. A "race" (or any good suspension) setup shouldn't be super stiff over bumps, it should allow the suspension to do work and actually absorb the high velocity bumps without upsetting the chassis. If it's bouncy on the low speed stuff, it could be underdamped on the low end and overdamped on the high end. Pretty much the opposite of what you want.

It's definitely not bouncy over low speed stuff...........but I should say the lousy ride i'm experiencing is on concrete interstate with lots of weird dips/drops/changes in concrete height. Most normal bumps/bridge connection sections are fine.

Just received my tracking number.

I wanted to thank @RPM; for all the hard work in putting this group buy together and for the unenviable task of staying on top of GC to keep getting these kits out. Your customer service and follow up is amazing. Thank you.

I'm wondering if I should fab up some limiting straps for the rear, cuz man, when you jack the car up, the spring separates like a good 6" from the upper perch.

I was thinking about trying to do the same thing when I install mine. With how often I have my car in the air I imagine it could get a bit annoying making sure the springs seat properly.

yeah I'm getting some clunk in the rear now as well as front, at low speed over imperfections. I wonder if I need front AND rear swaybar endlinks, since I haz aftermarket sways front and rear. ugh. lol. will back the rear onto ramps and shake things good, see if anything is loose.

To that end, I'm googling limiting straps, and all I can find are ones for off-road vehicles.

I've seen 'em on race cars. Someone's gotta make a set that is shorter than 12", lol.

8 Inch Black Triple Layer Limit Strap

How long do you think the strap would need to be?

They have 9, , 9.5, 10, 11, and 12 inch ones too.

EDIT: Found these too RDM Quad Wrap Limit Strap

Well shit now I'm worried about the spring becoming unseated. Now that I'm thinking about my rear tires leave the ground a couple times a day usually when pulling into driveways. I'll join the search for a solution. Any idea what length we need?

The springs definitely aren't coming unseated with that much weight from these cars.

There were 29 total and you were one of the last to order, so you're near the end. Also, since you're in Canada, your order will be shipped with all of the other CA orders to RPM, then shipped internationally from here. You should expect it to be another couple weeks.
