Revolution Performance Motorsports Revolution Performance Manufacturing (RPM) was started by three Mazda 6 enthusiasts in early 2004 under a simple premise: to develop and manufacture new products for the Mazda 6 at an affordable price. We began to realize our purpose with the short throw shifter and gas hood lifter kits for that vehicle. Since then, we have added many new aftermarket products from well-known manufacturers and continue to expand to offer products for other vehicles with the goal of having the best prices and customer service on the 'net.

I called today and I was told that mine shipped last week and wasn't part of the return. Donovan said if I don't get them by Wednesday to call back and he would ship out another batch. I'm in Illinois.

Anyone try installing the cups yet? Are there instructions for keeping them in the threaded shaft?

The cups tolerance is not tight enough to stay in on their own.

That's wierd, but who knows why I'm different, my rear threaded shafts came to me new from GC in "previously installed" condition.

I ended up tapping a 1/4 x 20 set screw in it to keep it snug. It will work fine, just hope I'm the only one this happens to.

Nope. My spring cups don't fit either. They're just falling out of position, not even close to holding the cup in place. I'm going to contact Donovan later today. It's a little ridiculous that they can't keep things consistent. Seriously are we just getting random parts made for other cars...

Some of the initial orders were CNC-machined by hand, whereas later units were done in bulk. The difference in fitment may have to do with which batch your rear seats came from.

I don't want to impose but if you didn't mind snapping a few pics that would be helpful. I reached out to Donovan via email so I'll let you know what he says when he gets back to me.

Here you go.

Couple notes:

I used set screws from Harbor freights assortment box, 1/4 x 20 x 1/4.

Initial hole drilled using 13/64 bit.

you have to install the threaded sleeve on the car before installing the cup. I could not get my driver through the hole in the cup, and the bolt will not go through the cup due to a perminent washer on the bolt being to large. Therefore, I made sure the setscrew could be accessed easily, in my case, from looking at it from the back.

You could probably just use some epoxy too. All it needs to do is keep the cup from falling out. The collar on the cone is long enough that lateral force from the spring coming unseated wouldn't cause it to come out. I mean I don't necessarily advocate gluing suspension parts together like a Special Ed art project, but just an observation.

I thought of that, and good suggestion and it may be a viable option for some. Problem for me was the thought that if I ever have to remove the collar for any reason, I would be outta luck getting the socket in there to remove the bolt without wrecking the cup. Since I was just installing the kit for the first time, and I had the parts to put in a set screw, it just worked for me.

Another glue that might work well as it is flexible and removable is Amazing Goop.

I also thought of using some of this I use as protector for the bottoms of my offroad RC trucks to protect the aluminum chassis, strong stuff, like 10mil.

Dirt Bike Factory Effex Universal Background Sheets | MotoSport

or even some clear bra material I have laying around to make it snug enough to hammer into the spot

All to say, there are options.

That's right, hadn't thought about that, no way to get that bolt out with the cone still in there.

Hey everyone. Donovan got back to me on the spring cup fitment. He said if the cups are not fitting there's no need to worry just put electrical tape around the cup like in the picture below till it fits snugly in the threaded spring perch. You could also do what @Mattyhawk1; did and drill and use set screw to the cup in place. Either will work. Just make sure you make it's snug enough to stay in place for all road conditions.

Well if they are small sounds like someone screwed the CNC program up at first and didn't dispose of the waste.

Well I installed the springs and and adjusters along with the spring cups. All I can say is THANK GOD for a lift! Did not have to take apart any suspension components to put the rears in . My adjusters happen to be one of the ones where the holes were too small for the bolts to go up through so we drilled those out to the next size up and the bolt went through perfectly with no slop.

The Spring cups were another story. I felt that they were too big for a press fit. My pop and I beveled the edge so the damn thing would center into the adjuster and we also used synthetic grease on the outside of the spring cup and inside of the adjuster. We pressed the cup into the adjuster using the opposite side of a 1 1/4" socket and a few extensions and pushed up with the one arm bandit (I don't see how anyone hit these in with a hammer because we needed constant force). The back of the car practically lifted up before the cup went in. I don't know how I'll ever get the damn things out... Anyhow, the springs and spring seat on the lower control arm went in easily still. They honestly should have had these from the beginning after looking at the car on the lift, but all is correct now and the springs will definitely not come out (unless you installed everything wrong).

If anyone has questions feel free to ask. I do plan on writing a write up and review of the suspension setup in the near future once I get an Autocross or two on this setup. Now I just need to get my fenders rolled so I can use my 17x9's in the rear, or just jacked the hell out of the thing and dragster the autocross course haha.

Sounds like you put the cones on with the adjusters on the car. I tried that for less than a minute and gave up lol. Putting the whole thing in a bench vise made it easy to line up and hulk-smash the cones on.

Well that is how you are supposed to install them. The Cups look before and not beat up the way I did it. I know how you did it, but it was just much easier this way considering the lift.

Fuck those knuckles... made the install take forever.

Drove the car for an hour so far and I have no issues or complaints whatsoever. This suspension is awesome. The 440f 525r is an excellent combo that the Koni yellows seem to like. This suspension is definitely stiffer then stock but a lot more comfortable. I'm going to keep testing and take some video then I'll post a thread about these later.

I'm currently on 1.25 turns from full soft on the front and rear. No bouncing.

Lol no thanks, don't feel like waiting till the year 3000 till they show up at my door. Of course they might not even be released by then, so what do we have to lose.

Haha.. We'll be all over it once we have pricing and details. They're telling me they should have details for me early next week.

If they have them ready to go, there will be no wait. It may be more of an intro pricing than a group buy to wait for X orders.
