Revolution Performance Motorsports Revolution Performance Manufacturing (RPM) was started by three Mazda 6 enthusiasts in early 2004 under a simple premise: to develop and manufacture new products for the Mazda 6 at an affordable price. We began to realize our purpose with the short throw shifter and gas hood lifter kits for that vehicle. Since then, we have added many new aftermarket products from well-known manufacturers and continue to expand to offer products for other vehicles with the goal of having the best prices and customer service on the 'net.

I've only had experience with re-branded SPC's.

+1 on this, and not as much adjuability as JBR or Corksport.

By design do you think the corksports would be better considering they use spherical bearings instead of bushings? or not a noticable difference?

I guess they could be. I never looked into it too much because it came down to cost for me.

Besides the fact JBR's can't be adjusted on the car. JBR's also don't alllow for fine adjustments since you can only adjust half a turn at a time. Don't remember what that translates to in degrees. I know it's a small difference but just creates more work for the alignment guy.

I got Corksport, but mainly because I got them for free with the store credit I had with them.

They're really nice though, I'd still get them even if I had to pay for them.

Sadly, after a lot of consideration I am going to have to pass on this deal, and it *is* a deal. The only factor that led me to this decision was the inability to adjust the rear shocks without removing them from the car. This is impractical for a daily driver that is also a weekend autocrosser.

While I completely understand not wanting to take the rear end apart to adjust, it is not as bad as it sounds. For me, it takes 40 minutes total from getting the first tool out to putting the last tool away.

Unfortunately making a change between runs would not be possible at most venues.

Sighs... This is what I get fro not doing more research. If backing out at this point effects the GB then Ill prolly stay on and just figure something out. But if I can make a switch without screwing everyone up then Ill be switching... T.T

Just FYI... In an order to try to get these shipped out ASAP, we've already made a commitment to GC on all of these orders so they can begin preparing them. We really need to get the remaining 9 orders in. I'm not sure why everyone has waited to the last minute to start thinking about backing out, but it's very disconcerting.

Earliest I'll know is Monday. I've got a pending offer on a house. This is probably the worst month to be adding extra expenses, but if everything works out I might have a garage to work on the car in =D

I can understand your concern about having to remove the shocks to adjust them, but Ground Control is presetting them to match your spring rates, effectively taking the guess work out of adjusting the shocks that you would otherwise have to do and eliminating the need to remove them.

And besides that, I'd rather have to take the shock off and have meaningful adjustments on good shocks, than get comparatively priced coilovers with adjusters that either don't do anything or are confused about what they should be doing on shocks that suck.

I just want to hop in and apologize ahead of time for anyone else who backs out (inevitable) at the last minute and may completely duck this thread. I hate to see shit like this happen to a forum vendor who took the intiative to get a group buy together, to pass savings on to us.

This is the reason we don't see as many GB's as we should and I thank RPM for putting this together.

Dont take this personally, but why did it take you 3+ weeks to decide this.

This was posted two days after you 'committed'.

I never take it personal. I needed to research and weigh other options that didn't require removal to adjust, price difference between the two, and whether or not it was worth it. Unfortunately life got in the way of that plan and so it took me longer than I wanted it to.

@RPM; if you get 19 orders paid please contact me directly and I will buy the last set to make you whole.

NVM… After talking to them for half a minute and knowing this is a better setup than what I was planning on doing anyway is a comfort AND reading some of the things since written here Im still in. I don’t like the inability to adjust with the shocks on the car, but it’s something I can live with. As a noobcake it’s prolly not something I need to be messing with on the regular anyway without parental supervision. Please excuse my dumbassery.

Agreed with not really having to mess with it. If concerned, find the middle ground of the 5 adjustment settings......or perhaps see if GC can recommend the optimal shock setting for your spring rates and adjust accordingly before install!

But are they not presetting them for us? O.O Or is this something different that I don't know about yet?

@justinsane87; We are good to go. My folks will let us ship to their place, and then they will send it up to me. Hopefully this will keep the costs down a bit further.

Let me know when you want to place your order and I'll PM you the address.

Nice guys! Keep it going!

This is as good as it gets in terms of a low-cost coilover substituted, especially considered the struts are adjusted to match the spring rates right from GC, so no messing with strut settings! Set height and go!

hmm. I must of misunderstood when "preset" was first announced. Is this just turning the knob to a setting that will handle the spring rate or doing something internally to handle the spring rate?

It's setting the rebound using the knob before it's shipped. They are not being revalved, but GC also does not use springs that are beyond the capabilities of the shocks.
