Quick question on K&N SRI/CAI for regular 3 Many years ago, I bought from RPM a K&N SRI/CAI for my wife's regular 3, 2007 2.0L. It is configurable to be installed in CAI or SRI mode. I did the SRI mode. If I recall, and perhaps I don't correctly, but, as I recall, it didn't come with a hose for hooking up to the valve cover, but, I took care of that. And, I don't think it came with an air straightener. Though it is fairly small, maybe doesn't need one. For years, the car burbles a bit at idle, like at a stop light. To be honest, I have no idea when it started, maybe when I put in the K&N part, maybe some other time. I have no idea. But, it has occurred to me recently that just perhaps it is due to no air straightener. I remember that the AEM intake for the MS6 when first released didn't have an air straightener, and then they later added it. I was just wondering if, conceivably, the situation is the same with this intake of mine. Or, perhaps not, nothing to do with it. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks. |
Why bother with an intake at all on a 2.0L 3? Go back to stock, and sell the intake. Problem solved. |
Air straightener won't matter. But I'd check to make sure the diameter of the MAF housing is identical to the stock one. |
