Default Tables beyond 7000rpm

We ever going to have access to tables that read beyond 7000rpms?

The 1 reason why this will never be assessed at cobb... because only a handful of people will or could actually use the extra rpm.

Anyone with a big turbo could potentially use it.

True, but I don't think anyone will or everyone would be screaming for it.

Big turbo? I would rev the BNR to 8k if I could (and if I had a built block).

I don't know man... Unless you have a really big turbo and lots of aux fuelling the power kind of starts to drop around 6.5k rpm, give or take.

However, on stock block I strongly advise against revving more than 6700, simply because the factory pistons will not be able to take all that heat. It's possible that some meth spray to take away some of that heat and extend the life of the pistons, but they're on borrowed time really, and since on stock block probably the turbo is not that big either so not making enough power to justify that.

So i'm using VT, but I just outlined the logic behind Cobb not investing any R&D time into extending those tables given the situation if the majority of the modded 2.3DISI-fTw's (stock it small big turbo, flow mods and bolt-ons, eventually some shy aux fuelling implementation).

Sometimes it's not about the power up there, it's just to avoid the time wasted shifting. At the strip it might just be one shift, but autocross or road racing it's a shift AND downshift avoided, time and time again...it adds up quickly.

I've been turning 7500rpm with the k04 for two seasons because of that. The extra speed in gear is totally worth it.

I dumped Cobb for VT. No regrets here.

The extra speed is definitely worth it! A 25.71-26in tire with PU gearing has my 3rd gear at approximately 100mph.
