Default Absolute Cheapest FMIC Piping?

Hey guys, back again.

The process of me welding all my intercooler piping is taking much longer than expected with work and all, so I don’t really have time to finish it at the moment. I still however sorely need my TR10 working, as driving with such high BATs with the stock TMIC is making me really uncomfortable and I’m sure it’s not good for the ringlands.

Where can I buy JUST the piping? All these CX Racing kits come with that garbage code which just adds cost that I don’t even need. I know The RPM Store sells a modified piping kit but god damn, $300 for some pipes is excessive. Any cheaper sources? I can’t find anyone selling a set of pipes, only one person on FaceBook but I’m pretty sure he’s gonna sell it to someone else.

High BATs are fine. Do I right. Do it once.

I'm on pump 93 and I've had BATs as high as 178 during a pull quite recently (with a CPe TMIC)
Technically, I wouldn't be surprised if I've had BATs much higher than that when I was stock and doing top speed runs on the interstate WOT in 6th.

My BATs reach over 200. Even from one pull.

for a speed3, there is probably many used fmic for sale, i would get a complete kit like a cheap cx and use the cx core until you get your tr10 done. Then resale it the same price you paid for it....
most of the time peoples would keep the piping and replace just the core so the chances are a lot more limited to find just a set of used pipes as rare as someone looking for it too.
Btw why a TR10 with just a Cs ?

A TR8 with 2.5'' piping would have been perfect for a cs turbo and easier to fit.

If someone temporary run a CS while planning for bigger in the futur, i won't blame the choice. It may cool a little more at some driving expense...Same if the TR10 was sourced at a better price.

When i will be ready to swap my cheap XS core it will probably be a TR8L...

To reach 200 with the tmic, do you still have all the ducking and do you let the engine bay heat soak before doing your pull or it is just because of the south weather ?

Before i got a deal on a underrout hot side and did the down faceing tb i was going to go with the cx pipes. Even thou the cx kit has gone up im price over the years it is still the best value for a pipe kit with bead rolled ends. Ebay the core and call it a day.

As far as ringland worry just use alcohol. In tank, sprayed or poured in my cup alcohol solves most of lifes problems or at least maskes them and makes them bareable....

Tr 10 is overkill hell a tr8 is overkill on stock block. A tr6 fits a genpu with no cutting and supports 400hp. Your ringlands will need a lot more then a bigher core if you are going over 400hp....

i assumed the 450hp claim from CS to be tight for a TR6 but i agree the stock bottom may limit it before the CS claim regardless of real CS performances.
I personnaly used a no name core on my 3 the size near of a tr6 with 2.25'' in/out and 2.5 piping. Coupled to an old gt2871 for a long while. forged bloc and 26psi with meth. BATs wasn't giving any sign of cooling problems but i suspect it may begin to be restrictive at some point.
The xs core i got with the ms6 kit is a bit larger and same in/out size as piping so it will work well until i get a larger turbine tuned for more flow. I'm more concerned about modding the bumper and ducking to provide more air flow as the coolant temp start to raise more than i would after the fmic install. I had to remove some diffuser to make room and now, with AC on during hot weather and traffic, the total cooling flow to the radiator is limited....Something that wasn't a problem with the 3...

Sometimes i think people get over excited thinking bigger FMIC is better. Also take into consideration of how accurate the temps of the air flowing through mani are compared to the heatsoak of the actual MAP sensor affecting the temp displays.

Justin Brasil's (Freektune) 6062 precision powered Silver gen 2 that does 10 sec 1/4 at 141mph with around 680whp only has a COBB FMIC OTS kit. He does run meth so us meth heads don't worry about BATs, but flow wise that little cobb aint no restriction.

Same set up is going on mine right now but will be using the TR8 i already have.

The 6062 pretty much maxes out around 680whp even with much bigger coolers strapped to the front. GET Methed lol.

If you call cx racing you can buy the piping without the core.
(626) 575-3288.

Fwiw I have a tr10 core/cx piping on the k04 and hold 9° over ambient at WOT.
