Default Installed my CS sri.. and very pleased!

Well today i got around to installing my corksport sri/tip and the install wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. It was a little tight but i knew it would be... hardest part is tighting the clamp for the tip in the back of the motor. Luckly i had a nice extension to help out with that! But all in all, it only took about an hour with the help of a friend... taking the stock parts off is the most time consuming. I would highly recommend this intake to anyone, and for the price its very nice quality and looks great under the hood and the sound is bitchin! ill snap a pic tomorrow.

Next on my list is an cobb ap and corksport cbe!

Go with DownPipe or test Pipe before catback. That's where the power is.

Hey Speedin, glad youre enjoying your new setup. Mine is still in the post. I have to wait a little longer as they're crossing the Pacific ocean down to Brisbane Australia.

As for tools, the extension you talk of, is it a screwdriver or hex type bolt. I'd like to go hunt down the tools before it arrives.

Did you think about the CS Airbox? I decided to go the Carbon fibre version. It's illegal in my state in Australia to have an exposed filter element.

Did you remove the battery?

Looking forward to some pics!

P.S. Test pipe...meh. DP = Power & nice note.

Yeldarb. The tools that youll need the most is a 3/8 drive ratchet, 10mm deep well socket, 12mm deep well socket, 3/8 drive 12'' extension(makes it way easier). I didnt go with the air box but i did think about it. You have to take the battery out and the battery box to access the turbo inlet pipe easier. O ya guys... forgot to add im going to get a down pipe too with the exhaust... figure im spending all the money might as well do it all at once.

Do not get a DP before getting a fuel pump! And before any gen1 guy claims this isnt true, it is for gen2.

Also, to really enjoy a DP, you need an AP too... That's where the REAL power is!

Thanks Speedin. Should be here by the end of the week. So this weekend...Happy Days!

So tells us about the SRI? Are you loving it? Noise? Spool? Low end/ Top end behavior?

I just need something to get me through the week.

Hey CK, just been reading about your woes with the RAMAIR. I had $$$ ready for that system earlier in the year, would have been the first in Oz. But all your candid advice put me off. Many thanks! What's the new system like?

So far im really liking it. Feels like it pulls harder on top by the seat of the pants. I raced my friends 2011 hatch wrx today and i can pull pretty good on the high way by about 4 lenghts on him. Its loud! The turbo spool up sounds sweet now and you can hear the factory bpv. Youll like it!

An hour?!?!! Took me 3 but this was at 1:30am and I was dead tired from working all day. The worst part was removing the breather hose. Once I figured out how to remove it, it was a lot easier.

Had my CS SRI w/ TIP installed since June 12. The stock TIP is a piece of crap compared to the one from CS. Another local member had the same intake installed and dynoed an increase of about 15 - 20 hp and tq (conservative estimate) from 2500 rpm and above. The sound was surprising at first, but has since become addicting and adds character to my car. I'm impressed by the custom machined MAF housing and air straightener (not to mention the turbo inlet pipe itself) - it's not simply a hose with an AEM dry filter on the other end.

Another note: my breather hose is nowhere near the ecu tabs, so no rubbing there. CS might have addressed that problem since it was first reported.

Glad to see everyone is enjoying the CS setup. I am still thinking of swapping out my K&N sri since all the exhaust work I want to do is from CS as well so I just want to go with the same company for everything, makes the AP happier.

CorkSport makes Mazda-only parts, right? A big plus if they do.
