(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hi guys! I have a problem with my newly bought intake JBR tru-3.0 wide path all silicone. The turbo inlet end of it can`t reach the end of the stock turbo, it`s too tight in there - a stock thick, black pipe under it (coolant line? marked with red arrow on the attached picture) gets in the way. I`m not sure if it`s too short, too stiff , or the TIH end of the new intake is just too fat/bulky to fit in comparing to OEM plastic TIH. That damn pipe seems to be located too much in the front in my car comparing to the picture (picture isn`t exactly from my car) and it can not be moved away. Have anyone had this problem ? Is there a way to fix it ? Thanks in advance for your help.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for that info, I thought they sent me wrong part. Is it necessary to flush the coolant fluid before you cut the line to extend it ?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Probably not necessary to flush/drain the entire system. If by flush you mean bleed/burp (add more fluid, get system up to temp, rev to 2-3K RPM to heat system up and remove air bubbles) after you reconnect the hose then probably. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You don't cut the line, you just disconnect the stock hose from the block and add an extension piece using a hose connector. You can buy that HTP kit or build your own for cheaper at the hardware store. It adds a lot of space for larger intakes.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I didn't extend the hose for 3" HTP. The TIP does touch heater hose when installed but the hose is sleeved so I'm not too concerned. For 3.5" or larger I would definitely extend the heater hose.

| Not Ranked : 0 score That hose is a pain in the ass. It's ALWAYS in the way no matter what you're doing. It has a good bit of flex, though. I've pushed and pulled on mine for 2 years through two turbos and inlet pipes going in and out. It's still as strong today as it was the first time. With my never ending build, I am only replacing hoses that absolutely need to be replaced, and that hasn't been one of them yet. |
