Default SnailD's Throttle Table Fix

So i actually did this a while ago, but have since put them on several cars and everyone has loved the difference in throttle response. These tables have been refined too many times to count at this point. Basically my goal was to get a more linear feel like a DBC setup without the dead spot in the middle of the pedal. Feel free to copy and paste these tables into your map, or not. I figured i'd post them up for those that disliked the stock and cobb tables too. THESE ARE DEFINITELY A BIT MORE AGGRESSIVE

LESS AGGRESSIVE TABLE

Here is a table i did for someone looking for a similar feel to stock, without the dead spot in the pedal. Much better for auto-x and racing, VERY smooth and linear throttle feel.

I only have the gen 2 APP done up but here it is. i'll update the OP when i make the others.

Loaded it in this morning, only issues I've had is the overly sensitive throttle when downshifting into 2nd from third. Other than that its worlds better than the Cobb tables I was using with linear throttle interpolation.

glad to hear! That probably came down to my preference on things, the quicker the rpms rise the quicker you can get into gear. I also cleaned my valves the other week and definitely noticed a difference on rev matching throttle response

@daafisch; thanks for the mention very appreciated.

@snailD; I will give these a go. What kind of boost target map is this optimized for? A real "peak" map (like the OTS stuff), or more of a "plateau" map like OEM settings?

you can still target boost however you like, but i have my tune set so boost comes on a lot stronger in the mid range. this makes it easier to control and hold boost going around twisties otherwise it is too ON/OFF while going hard in the canyons regardless of throttle maps

FIY targeting higher than 80% in the DBW tables prevents the ECU from modulating the throttle plate to adjust for overload conditions.

thanks lex. Typically i take advantage of the boost tables for this, but i adjusted max to 80%. will make it a seamless integration to everyone's tune.

i dont understand why it would what idle are you targeting? you are the first who seems to have an issue. most cars i've put this on has a raised idle except a genpu i did, which didnt have any type of issue. when i had this table WAY out of spec trying to figure it all out i still didnt have any idle issues. you change anything else?

Factory idle settings. I'll check it out this weekend hopefully. No other changes.

Not really a bad thing, runs and drives fine, love the throttle tables. It actually sparked something rather commical at the gas station. Just sitting there it sounds like i have a decent set of cams in the car, I guess a 2g eclipse GSX owner thought the same and I saw him somewhat hiding behind the pump checking out my car. When I got in to leave he came around to the back of my car and did that stupid "wtf" head tilt. I blipped the throttle & watched him jump a little and proceeded to lite up the tires as I left just for fun, lol.

it might go away. sometimes reflashing/resetting the ECU makes idle rough for about 50 miles

Flashed this setup a few days ago and have been having a blast! I love the power placement in the mid RPM range. 1st into 2nd is extremely touchy for me. If I baby the throttle the change can be smooth.
Thanks for the post!

@snailD; - Thank you! This brings back all of the OEM driveability characteristics without forcing the car into open loop too easily. Drove it all day yesterday (almost 200 miles) and I love it. Have to get used to it a little (finally got accustomed to the OTS throttle maps) so I don't go into boost and spin the fronts pulling away from a red light in a 25mph zone like I did yesterday.

Finally got around to loading the tables and WOW what a difference in throttle response and power delivery. Thanks @snailD; for posting these. Every map revision I do from here on out will incorporate these tables.

ill throw this on my car (note what turbo I am running) and get back to yall, I was just talking about how I miss my 3071's DD responsiveness the other day. Assuming the weather isn't shitty ill try to get back mid week or so, but everyone seems to love it so far. I may leave my APP tables as they are and just try your DBW table @snailD;

I assume you literally mean when hitting too much load? I have still seen boost get trimmed when approaching the throttle close even with >80%, but it does seem to be hit or miss on some cars.

yes he means the boost limits throttle closed table. targeting a higher number will change this function and how it is used or isn't used.

let me know what you think, you will need to run at least the first few intervals off the 1st gear app for starting from a stop. if you paste them over you will see what i mean then blend it into your usual app for 1st gear

I couldn't do it.
A day and a half and I had to go back.
I've driven many a cable throttled car, I even own one, and it's nothing like that.
I almost had to shift, let out the clutch, then slowly reapply the throttle from zero, or it it just wanted to surge forward like I was in a race or something.

To be fair, this table is fucking awesome on my car, so I can understand how it may be a bit much on a k04.

Totally.
I'm gonna muck with it myself.
I like the decreasing radius to about 33%, then maybe straight line it from there.

There's nothing wrong with 100% throttle position all the time, is there? Spinning the wheels while braking?

@Tomas; not sure if your 4" intake was still giving you trouble, but this actually cleaned up the surging / bucking i was having when letting off the throttle. May be something to look into.

Did anyone else notice a gain in MPG? I went from 22mpg to 25mpg (350 - 410 miles to empty). My tables were pretty much set like this from Socks but the DBW tables were changed to the OP. No change of mods. Been about 200 miles now since flashed.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. It's a lot less linear...first gear sort of (at the same point on throttle) accelerates lightly to 2k then pulls like a freight train. I kind of like it, but am kind of terrified to like it since it may mean more wheelspin.

The clutch engagement is smoother from a stop and between gears but the throttle is very touchy. I will see how I feel after a few days.

Definitely going to have to try this. I'm running a gtx3076 so I'll let everyone know how it goes and how it feels.

Tried these tables but they were just too touchy for my car so I reduced the APP tables about 10% and now its perfect.

Yesm, they are all now

0.00 0.77 2.36 3.33 5.47 7.16 8.78 10.55 12.20 15.67 19.28 22.43 26.08 29.73 33.61 42.32 52.20 66.14 83.08 100.00

This makes them not much more than OTS but it works for me.

I t took me a day or two but I finally got used to the throttle. It definately takes some finesse to drive smoothly but rev matching is much easier. However if somebody else drives my car, its like they are driving a stick fir the first time, haha.
