Default Start of a FREEK tune...
Just started working with atvfreek on this tune for my MS3... I did a bunch of reading and what not and he seemed like the tuner to go with and I have read that he was an awesome person to work with... So far he has been very good to talk to and his instructions of what he needs are very clear... He is also helpful with all these damned acronyms that are floating around... Geez... I took the data logs that he needed and sent them to him and seemed like as soon as I turned my head he already responded with a map and things to remove on the logs with excel and tips and pointers... I installed the map this afternoon and already I noticed a difference in 1st and 2nd gear... So far so good but definitely can't wait till the final stages and get it tweaked with and exhaust that will be put on in September... I am excited...

I suppose I will keep posting each time the tune progresses... It will be my experience that I had with justin and how the car is working with this tune... A blog persay...

Do it up man. It's awesome to see a tune progress. I still find it amazing, at what can be done with overall performance and driveability, just by playing with a few tables.

I was going to wait till after the raffle but I couldn't wait... Haha... I am going to get CP-e triton exhaust with a CP-e carted down pipe... Is there a way to clear the check engine light if you have a down pipe with a cat delete... I there is I will definitely go with out cats...

Yes you can delete the cat codes from setting in ATR. So tuning for catless is no problem. You also have to delete the code for catted downpipes, because they don't clean as good as the factory dp and will set the code as well

Depending on your states emissions laws, if you know someone or some shop that will overlook you not having a cat (which isnt hard to find AT ALL), go catless. 2.) Even if the turbo does smoke, you can increase the thickness of the oil you use so it wont get past the seals. Try that before you start buying things to fix it, its an easier, cheaper fix. 3.) Cars take 5-10 minutes to warm up obviously depending on how cold it is.. Dont base your decision on going catless off of that it. Even if it does sound raspy it will literally last 5 minutes. 4.) The actual whp gains arent significant but its a much better flow.. Thats why you hear of people throwing a TP/RP on their car and keeping the stock cbe.

Lol, I just recently crashed my 24v vr mkiv jetta. I loved it actually, but the cost of repair doesnt justify for such an old car. That and ive been eyeing the ms3 for a while heh.

Well everything turned out really good... He was very professional about everything... The car was running in tip top condition and still is for the most part... I installed a cp-e catted dp and their triton exhaust and it changed things and created some kr's... So he is doing some retuning trying to find a good and happy medium... Also I am only running 91 octane because for the most part that is all that I can get around here and it is convenient if I have to travel... It's hard trying to make power on 91 but that is all good considering that it is my dd... So hopefully here soon the tune will be completed and then get some solid dynos done... According to the vd from the start of the tune minus the TBE to where I am at now with the TBE I have gained 49hp and 47lbft... So between the second map that had sent and the map that was revised last that's where I stand...
