| Not Ranked : 0 score Slower response time from them working on newer platforms.... but back in time they knew pretty well the speed platform. But you should not expect much at first place with a generic flash tune. each car is different especially after years of use. To make a generic tune, they need to take a good one and step back a bit on few things to make sure it would work with a wider range of cars. So it may work very good if you are at one end of the group or it may work a bit poorly if you are at the other side...or just average too... So yes a flash tune isn't that wonderfull but it remain the same for all company. There is nothing like a specific tune revised for your car behaviors.

Edit to say: as far as working on new platforms...maybe but they have a guy dedicated to the mazdaspeed platform. Nolan Wong is the guy's name. Seems like a good dude that knows a lot about these cars and tuning, again I have no issues with stratified. I was just saying they were slow to respond to emails because they are busy and not to expect a same day turnaround on most stuff unless it is an emergency.

IS The complimentary maf adjustement under the form of datalog and a personalized re-tune or just a based tune made with the intake part # without feedback? Because if they preset the tune for the parts you have without closing the loop with datalogging the real car and update, the only difference from a Cobb OTS it is the brand name... IMO, the OP should at least get the refinement option you are talking about. Every part of the car makes some error value in the loop especially with aftermarket install and wear over time....Don't expect 2 cars with the same mods to react the same. One can have half clogged intake valves and the other may not... One may have some oil going back into the intake to reduce octane and support less timing than another one. IT can be timing chain job that shifted 1 deg or a loose chain that affect it too. A dirty intake filter. Partially clogged cat running a smoking turbo for a while. etc etc...

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have been working with them for my BNRS4 tune. Nolan Wong has been extremely helpful with all my questions. Responds fairly quick with revisions. I would use them again for tuning. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for the info everyone. I'm going to clean my valves then load the tune. I will most likely upgrade the flash tune to a full tune. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score please clean your logs, you don't need to duplicate many sensors with voltage and engineer units and you don't need EGR/EVAP and fans status etc... Erase lines where you cruize or iddle... Beside that, it's look like a somewhat agressive tune. I bet you feel it when driving ?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Will do on my next data log post, thanks for the heads up. I did choose the aggressive option, spins the tires in third if I don't ease into it. But my tires are not anything special.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Traction and tires are the weakness point of a modded 3. You would need large and gummy tires now. Michelin PSS are good ones... And if someday you skip ethanol content, granny drive it until you can get some.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I did the aggressive tune as well for a while but it was kind of a pain daily driving it. I went back to the linear tune because it is easier to drive on the low end. Especially this time of year when I don't really drive it that much and when I do it is on snow tires and cold pavement. The low end on that aggressive map is silly though, I might try it again this summer with the PSS on it and see how that goes.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just for clarity's sake, do note that the tune itself (i.e. fuel/ign/load maps) isn't different between aggressive and linear, the only difference between them is the throttle map which changes throttle response for a given input. I have linear myself for both 92 and E30 flash tunes from Stratified, I imagine the aggressive maps would be more like stock or cobb ots regarding throttle response which isn't my sort of bag.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I don't like an aggressive throttle either. I settle down mine from the ots map but the peak boost and max hp can be controlled by your right foot. No need to have the ecu to clamp power during winter... We drive on snow since november to may in my area and i never did any change to my BT setup exept sometimes shutting down the meth when temp drop below -25-30C. TCS remain active and this alone was enough for me.
