Default 15K mile tune up done...have questions.

I just did a tune up on the car (as title states).

Installed K&N drop in, SU boost tubes, Denso ITV20 plugs.

I noticed the car runs a lot smoother and power delivery seems more linear.

I gapped the plugs to .028...the ones I took out were at about.024...out of spec from the factory. Is that typical?

I noticed a very light coating of oil on the inside of the OE boost tubes. Is this normal or do I have things breaking already?

Also, the Boost drop @ WOT seems more pronounced starting at about 5800 RPMS. Is this normal for the car or is it pulling timing or losing FP? I don't have a device to let me see exactly what the FP or timing is looking like but if that is normal I am not going to worry about it at the moment.

Also...as I get closer to out of warranty what is the most efficient way to decrease the boost drop @ WOT @ high RPMs?

Thanks.

the fix for the oil in the boost tubes is an Oil Catch Cans. our cars like to put a little bit of oil through the intake tract. a matt damonds oil catch can will prevent that. also donate and then invest in a cobb ap so you can monitor your fuel trims, knock, etc..

hey there. most tunes drop boost toward redline to protect the turbo.. i don't know if the stock tune does, but if you read a bit, you'll find that most tunes are designed to taper boost off at around 6k rpm. do some more research if you like, but i think it's normal. the best way to keep more boost high up is a tune with a tuning device, either ht, cobb ap or standback.

edit: why the fuck did this reply get groaned? because it was an accurate answer to a noob question? yanahdi, lick my choad!

Thanks for the helpful response. My car certainly has an access port in its future, it sounds like that will help.
