Default 2012 MS3 Oil spitting question

Had a weird thing happen today, changed oil and forgot to put the oil cap back on. The hood was still open when I started the car. As the engine was idling it was spitting out droplets of oil all around the TMIC. Wasn't an explosion of oil but just slow spitting. Is this normal for these cars? None of my previous cars did this.

Yeah, I know that the bad VVT would cause oil flying out. I'm asking if a little bit spitting out is normal or should it not be spitting at all? Here's a picture after the TMIC was taken off. You can see oil around, the droplets spread so it looks like much but it wasn't.

Also how much should I be worried about VVT on a 2012?

Gen2 valve cover has a baffle over the timing chain. The mess can be much worse on a gen1.

That's pretty normal for some cars. Really depends on the design of the valve cover. Just put the cap back on; it should be anyway. Now, if you have puff coming from your dipstick or the dipstick popping out from the tube, then you have problems. Same with puffs, smoke, steam from the oil fill.

That's the one.
Was blowing the dipstick when I finished break-in and turned up the juice. So I ziptied that bitch down and kept sending it at 28psi.
Fast forward to 10k miles on the rebuild and I start getting a misfire code. Low compression cylinder 4 which now has blowby for days so I parked it.
