Default 5th gear doesnt want to engage. Thoughts?

Hopefully someone can help me answer this.

My 5th gear goes in fine with the clutch all the way in, and as soon as i let out, it pops out and grinds. Much like the 2nd gear issue i've read about on here. Nearly every time unless I really force it(not preferred).

Has anyone had the same issue or know solutions?

Only transmission 'mods' are an ACT 6 puck clutch and flywheel. Motor is bolt ons. Which also means I'm probably ass out at the dealer considering the car was mostly modded when purchased and I cant go back stock.

Please help. Lol

In my experience that usually means a worn out synchro. The only way to correct it would be a transmission rebuild. Or at least replacement of that syncro

If it's only 5th gear yes the answer is probably a Synchr or something with the tranny and since you're not going to go more with the mods I would go back to maybe a stage 1 or stage 2 performance clutch 6 Puck clutch for racing, and stuff like that. I wouldn't have that for a daily driver and not go further with mods. I have every bolt on mods you can think of and a full custom tune with the stock clutch 70000 miles still going strong no reason for six puck.

So not long after I bought it, the clutch has shit the bed on me. I figured I can go stock replacement, or upgrade and it really feels stockish to me. It's really neither here nor there but I do intend on taking it a good bit further on the mods.

Cool. I put a stage 2 SPEC clutch on my S13 of course it's not my speed3 like I said that was stock. What I mean by all this is that the spec stage 2 in the s13 is just like it was stock , but much stronger. The pedal feel is like it was stock. Just another option to think about.
