Default Downpipes, which did you go with?

Just like it says, did you guys go with just the upper downpipe, or did you get something like the ATP setup:

ATP 3" Long Downpipe - Mazdaspeed3—|—MazdaSpeed3 Exhaust—|—MazdaSpeed 3—|—Mazdaspeed Parts - Mazda Speed Store

Which do you find easier to deal with?

I ask because I want to get rid of both cats, but is it necessary to get rid of the lower downpipe as well?

I don't think I'm understanding the way this exhaust works lol. Is the upper / lower downpipe BOTH cats? or does the secondary cat come later?

The 2nd cat is removed with a test pipe. The DP i believe contains the primary. I had a ATP test pipe until i recently purchased a CNT full pipe. No cats in CA is the way to roll.

no
the first cat is in the downpipe
the second cat is in the test pipe section
both are restrictive
then catback
basically the same exact thing as this

Full-Race two-piece vband dp...?

If you want flexibility, get the shorty dp and a tp. You can add a resonator/high-flow cat if you want, or leave it castless.

If your not going to mess with it again get the long dp. You can have a high-flow cat welded in if you want pre-install. But it's harder to swap out if you plan on a lot of switching... well, harder if you have no lift or air tools
