I ordered mine tonight as the "GIFT" code is only good for a limited time??? After reading some exhaust threads recently I had my resonator removed and I am really not diggin the new sound. I know most of you guys around here really like the resonator delete, but the exhaust sound now reminds me of my first car when I thought it would be cool to hacksaw the muffler off and eventually just unbolted the whole catback just to see how loud I could get it. Obviously its not that loud, but has the same raspy note.

I really liked some of the sound clips from the Magnaflow CBE install so I am going to give it a try. Not exactly what mine will sound like since I have a test pipe but hopefully it keeps that low clean note.

Has anyone seen any MPG gains from installing a catback pipe on their MS3? I've seen gains w/ my K&N Intake and full exhaust replacement on my Tacoma, so I know it's possible.

I have a feeling none of us are going to get these until after the first of the year. I ordered mine a week ago and have still not received a tracking number. Only an email from autoanything saying they have not received a tracking number. When I originally ordered, they claimed a tracking number by the 21st, now latest email says 1/2-1/4. I wonder if Magnaflow is closed for the Holidays???

Anyways, I have a CS racepipe already installed, so I will post a video after I get the Magnaflow CBE installed. Of course by then, the coupon code will probably no longer by valid...

I just pulled the trigger on the Magnaflow deal...too hard to pass up. Will be my first mod to the MS3. Corksport SRI is next up now that it's Calif legal, so hopefully the two parts will wake the car up a bit.

mine was shipped on the 23rd. received and installed it today. only mods are intake. stock down pipe and midpipe. the fitment is okay, i need to adjust more so it wont rattle. tips look mostly stock but a bit bigger, but i like it. sound wise. she sounds exactly like stock exhaust. i was like wtf. all the cat back is is piping and a muffler and its BARELY, i mean BARELY above stock. im dissapointed gains? meh a little maybe. nothing crazy. so if anyone wants a quiet cat back, get this one. i couldnt install my down pipe and midpipe due to the fact i didnt have an 02 sensor socket.. gay. im sure it will get much louder when the two stock cats are removed. ill update tomorrow hopefully

Wolly, you should have kept your CS CBE on the car for a while. Mine mellowed out and had no more drone after a few hundred miles. There is a guy in DFW, Klayan on here, that has the MF CBE on his 2010. He says it's as quiet as or quieter than stock until over 4K RPM.

Just what I was looking for. After I removed the resonator, the cabin noise progressively got worse and worse to the point where I am constantly adjusting engine speed to keep my ears from ringing. Not too loud, but way too much drone.

Im assuming it is going to get a little bit louder as it "breaks in". Magnaflow uses muffler packing material that usually gets louder and louder as it goes through heat cycles.... But what do I know... I have one on the way so im hoping, that with a testpipe, there is a decent increase in sound/tone.

Tune it. I think that the reason that the exhaust doesn't give much on the OEM tune is because of all the nannies. I had a very noticeable boost in throttle response, spool time, and lack of traction with the RP+CBE, and I don't even have an itake/tip. I think that the stock gen 2 CBE is probably much more restrictive because of the muffler design compared to the stock gen 1. CS converting to an inline muffler is a good idea for turbo setups as opposed to keeping the single in/dual out muffler setup. The straighter the flow, the better in our cases.

I think that Klayan has had his for a while, and he still says it's pretty damn quiet. He doesn't have a catless RP though, may make a big difference.

Yea the exhaust is slightly louder than stock. I've had my Magnaflow exhaust since August. Actually those vids on Magnaflows website is my car(used for R&D). The part where the exhaust connects to the cat first starts out about 2.5" then goes to 3" so I would like to see how that will effect the flow if you do plan to get a testpipe/downpipe.
Im happy with the exhaust since its not obnoxiously loud and its pretty solidly built

Maybe the catback is like how my corsa sport mufflers were like on my 08 GT mustang. You couldnt really tell much sound increase inside the cabin, but outside the sound was much louder, especially at WOT.
