Default BNRS3 Dyno results Gen2 380HP

Hi guys,

Just thought i would post my Dyno up, pretty happy with the result. It's a Hub dyno and generally is calculated pretty good. Humidity has been pretty high the last few weeks here in little New Zealand.

284KW / 380HP and 374 LBft / 507Nm

My previous logs on a flat road in 4th, CF 1.01 Virtual dyno shows around 280KW / 375WHP.

This has been Etuned (with only very little input by me) via a regular on this forum, honestly top notch bloke i couldn't have done it without his help. Knows his stuff!
The tune has been a long painful process due to leaking intercoolers, adding meth spray and then exhaust along with bad logs and a few other issues that have been causing knock.

IAT would have been well over 86 def F, BATS on the best run were around 111deg f to start(44deg c) dropped to 90deg f (32deg c) and then peaked up to 95deg f (35deg c). Didn't log coolant or IAT officially.
Boost is reverse taper 20psi by around 3500rpm, peaking 24.5psi 6500+rpm. Timing is around 16° by redline, (was requesting 17 but appears i got knock up top so need to drop some timing out)

Mods:
2010 MS3 - 210,000kms on engine! last compression test was 170psi +/- across cylinders
Stock Block
BNRs3
HTP 3" Alum intake with AEM dry filter
3 port EBCS
3Bar MAP
CPE 3.5" TMIC
Stock intake manifold with EGR etc all still hooked uo
Stock exhaust manifold
3" Ebay Downpipe heat treated no CAT
3" Xforce exhaust no CAT
Corksport HPFP
CFM RMM 4 pins (going to put all 8 in shortly)
ACT Performance clutch with prolite flywheel (full face organic) - clutch started slipping on logs so had to replace recently, the KMS probably played a part in this.
Versatuned
93 equivalent Pump fuel (NZ 98 octane)
AEM 50/50 Meth/Water spray kit with 500cc nozzle just after intercooler
Possibly other things i have missed

Any questions feel free to ask away

This forum has been a great help to get me where i am and appreciate all the valuable information that has been on here

Congrats! I picked up a BNR S3 for my MS6 along with DO Meth Kit, Ported intake mani and HTP 3.5" intake. Looking forward to similar results (AWD drivetrain loss > MS3 of course).

How does it feel? night and day from stock K04?

Yes quite a bit different! Although we progressively tuned it so over time every increase was small. My wheel dyno last year with 6deg base timing 23psi pump only, no meth and a leaking intercooler was around 300whp stock exhaust bnrs3 so its definetly a step up from there. The gen2 in general "feels" slower when ur driving i feel compared to gen1. Side by side though you see it ☺ i guess softer ti drive and less agressive feel. Its still pulling 200kw by 4k rpm so very happy

Use 100% meth mix so you can go more timing although suprised it knocks even with 50/50. When i had a GTX2867 could run it on 20 deg at 24psi with no knock on a DO10 nozzle.

I still have the same system with a Cooling Mist 14gph nozzle on the 3076 and no knock at 28-30psi @ 20 deg timing @ 7000rpm.....It may have been high coolant temps on a dyno causing yours to knock, you still made excellent power though.

Yeah i agree, even my tuner friend is surprised on the knock. Could be mix related. Don't really want to go past 50/50, the tanks in the front bumper area. Could be fuel related or spark, i am going to replace the spark plugs and copper rod mod just for good measure. Also bats do climb i may be getting some heat soak, maybe that TMIC is getting some heat soak. Maybe even not enough room from the engine.

Still good power so not overly fussed but would be good to tweak a bit here and there. Was considering 2L methanol intank and changing the weight on the tune to compensate. This would help a bit more with knock. It does mean i need to keep some with me at all times though for fill up.

The DO10 nozzle has almost 100% more flow (~950cc/min) than the 500cc/min nozzle used in this setup.
Considering the limitations of the stock block and the current power and torque figures I guess the overall result is pretty decent.

Small update. My AEM controller was leaking which is why i was getting knock. LUCKILY it was during tuning and we were trying to tune around the issue (which we didn't know about) so no damage was done. But still very scary! AEM are sending a replacement as we speak.
