I'm running the stock dunlop 225/40, front is -1.5 and rear is at 0 currently. I will need to add about a degree of negative camber for the rear to match with the front since only the rear rubs over big bumps and dips. It also may help if I reset the preload. I'm also planning to get 245/35/18 tires next for more tread and it may allow me to go a little bit lower.

The more I look at this thread, the more I want to pick up a set.

For those of you with the 17x9 setup, where did you buy your wheels from?

I was going to get mine off of tire rack but found them used locally, the 17x9 +45 size is pretty hard to come by. It took me 6 months to hunt down a set on craigslist.

Yea I just checked on tire rack and they didn't even have the 17x9 option. There are some on ebay, but I'd rather stay away from buying there to avoid fake replicas

If you use the option of searching by make/model then search for rx8's versus mazdaspeed 3.

I need to wash the salt off my car and post pics of mine lol.

Slapped on some Sonic Tuning Coils and a MZ replica lip for the regular 3.... + 15mm spacers up front and 10mm in the rear.

Call them up and get a quote from them! That's what I did on my Enkei Raijin's. If you look under tireracks set of wheels for the MS6 the Raijins don't come up but on Enkei's website it showed the right size. It's all about researching what you want.

A 5mm spacer make you have a +30 offset

Also I may be picking up a set of black 17x9 +45 rpf1's and I was wondering what you guys think about powder coating them? I have pc'ing a cast or aluminum wheel is dangerous. I know @PapaSmurf; pc'd his but I don't want to compromise the structural integrity of an awesome strong reliable wheel. But I love the bright color of my current track setup.

Lots of stock alloys are pc'd. I don't think they get that hot when it bakes, I'd think you'll be fine.
