Personally, I think both kinda suck at the moment (lacking new information or development, and have less traffic than before) and the other place only sped up the decline of this place.

http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...ipslip-201371/ Granted, I did post it there too. Just saying, the platform isn't really dead. How long did it take for the Honda market to grow as large as it is? Longer than we've had to push this platform.
Most vendors offer a military discount, FYI. You may have to call to get it, but most do offer one.

Congrats! May she treat you well & bring you lot's of enjoyment! If the PO has ATR, the tuning software for the AP, you may want to get it from him- Cobb isn't currently allowing downloads of it and it's unknown what exactly they're changing or when it'll be released to the public again.

The intake manifold is one of three emerging intake manifold options we have (I count the CP-E as one of those due to the complete lack of information on it), and not really a transformative mod on its own, although I admit the PI if implemented well could be.

I'm not here to convince you or anyone really what the platform is doing. I've made good friends through this platform and I have no real complaints about anything development wise. I have what I need, where I need it and when I need it so speaking for only myself, I'm content whether its dying or thriving.

While there's a tremendous amount of information about the platform here, I've always had to dig and dig and dig. It always seemed like a waste of time, especially when the search function went useless, and sometimes I still missed a critical piece of the puzzle or was misled by what I read. No harm no foul, really, as I've not lost a lot of time or money due to any of it and it's not as though I harbor ill will toward the place. But once I got past the "where am I going with this" and "I need the damn shop manual" phases, there just doesn't seem to be a reason to not stay brown. The sales sections are not that amazing on either site really, and in fact my last 2 or 3 major purchases for my car have been on FB. While I would have preferred and perhaps felt safer doing it on one of the sites, the transactions went very well such that I've really no complaints. Would I prefer that this site go away? Hell no. But I think a site that collected all the encyclopedic knowledge of the platform in an organized and useful fashion, and maintained it well, might be "better" than either one. Especially if it could do a good job of promoting a sense of community amongst Speed owners, maybe even between speed owners and other auto enthusiast communities rather than just making most of them think we're a huge pile of turd coated assholes. I'll derail a bit further and note that I guess I missed meeting you at EMWNM last year. Hopefully we can rectify that at this year's edition.

Still confused as to what a rainbow humper is. I've seen rainbows before, never tried humping them, but maybe it's possible? Since you seem to be the expert here, maybe you can tell us the exact definition of a "rainbow humper". The last sentence doesn't even make sense, kind of like your existence here. And to @deathpunch;, you should seriously get a compression test done. 25,000+ miles, already modded with an AP but no internals, slightly worrysome. Want to make sure that engine is healthy before adding more parts.

Around 180 is about common for healthy motors, and most of us prefer to be closer to 10% variation between cylinder.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Update for those curious: Compression test came back muy bueno. All cylinders 165-175. Replaced plugs with the stage 1 recommended iridium ix's, and popped the filter off and blasted the seafoam spray past the maf while the wife stood on the zoom pedal. So far, this car is awesome. Thanks for your help, everyone! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Autotechs are easier to install and do the exact same thing. My preference.

| Not Ranked : 0 score What would make AT internals easier to install? Isn't the process the same across all brands? I didn't find the CS internals to be all that difficult, just slightly time consuming because I kept double- and triple-checking the instructions before completing each step; hardest part was that the OEM sleeve was gummed up and didn't want to come off. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You don't need any tools or hammers to install the stock style retainer like CS uses. The AT internals just use keepers like a valve/valve spring. Just slide the internals in, stick the keepers in, and you're done.

| CPE one is the definitely easiest since its the full fuel pump, but it's pricey. Just remove and replace.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Those aren't stage 1 plugs...they're 1 step colder. There's a difference. An important one. You don't need step colder plugs until you're at least bolted and tuned, a number of guys claim great results running stock heat range plugs on BT setups.
