(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok, so I have my flame suit on for this one but I have been wondering about this and have not found anything relating to this question I have. Every other car I have owned has been a key start type. So turn the key to the acc and power, let fuel pump prime and then start the car. Seems to me that is the best way to go about it. However, with the keyless start button, you can just push in the clutch and push the button and fire it right up. So is it better to go through the cycles before starting the car to prime the FP, or can I just go straight to starting the car? ![]() BTW, was not sure where to post this, so I apoligize if its in wrong section. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just push the button. Pretty much every new car has push button now and they did research. If it was an issue you would have heard about it. Also- I've never done the "prime" thing on any car I've ever driven even with a key and I've never had an issue

| Neutral : -1 score you only really need to prime the fuel pump after youve done things like replace the pump or disconnected lines and drained the fuel. If you need to do this, hold the clutch and gas pedal al the way down while youre starting the car. This will let the motor turn over (priming the pump) but it wont let it start.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Unless you are starting the car for the first time after installing a new fuel pump, you can just start the car. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I thought this thread was gonna lead to how to manually start a car by rolling it down the hill and dumping the clutch in 1st gear with the PUSH button.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Prime the fuel pump is like for a carburetor injected car. Like Old School Shit. Plus it literally takes 0.25 seconds for the pressure to come up according to the logs I take with the standalone.

| Not Ranked : 0 score You should always prime your car by turning the key to acc for a few seconds, get out ( with the key in the acc position still ) , open your gas door , remove the cap , insert penis and give 3 good hard pumps , re-enter the car and start if it gives u trouble repeat steps 1 - 6 . That's what I do and it hasn't failed me yet. |
