Tranny issue

Hey guys I'm in desperate need of help. I have a 2012 Ms3 with 126,0p0.00 miles on it. I've changed the tranny oil with the motor craft oil 2 years ago and I've never had issues with shifting or clutch slipping... so last week I was driving on the highway and I tried to down shift from 5th to 4th and when I pressed the clutch it did not let me put it into gear... I pressed clutch a few times before I tried again and it went through..I exited the highway and car drove fine. I drove about 30 miles homes no issues. The next morning I'm heading to work about 20 miles in I exit normally and cant put the car in gear. I tried pressing the clutch again and it worked . I was worried I knew something was up . Leaving work the car made a noise when I pressed the clutch , I'm guessing the throw out bearing it didnt allow me to engage any gears. When the car is off it goes into every gear but when on it's hard to get it into first. I towed the car home. Checked the slave cylinder and it looks like it works. The fork attached to it felt a bit loose I've never dealt with it before so dont know how it should feel. Master clutch cylinder was replaced about 2 years ago. No leaks under the car. I searched online and people have had something like this but they usually just got their clutch done. I'm very low on cash...super broke. If its the throw out bearing can that be fixed easily? Looks like tranny has to come down. Also I feel like a mechanic would say I need to replace everything.. anyways to check and cross reference.? Sorry for the long post.

Likely your throwout bearing is fubar'd. When mine went the throwout would make gnarly grinding noises when the clutch was pressed and the slave started spewing fluid when I pulled the red boot back. Gross.

The throwout is easy to replace once you remove the tranny but at that point you might as well replace the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel.

Thanks for the response. I wish I had an option to replace all that stuff but going through some hardship. How much do you think is a reasonable price to drop the tranny and get the TOB replaced?

Free if you do it yourself, google the How-To on here, and the throwout is cheapish. Go OEM from Mazda. I went the LUK route but can't complain.

A lot. prolly charged 7-9 hours of labor, so not less than 500 in labor alone. And at 126k miles I'd want everything replaced if we're opening it up.
