Further, I personally find it preferable to separate replies to different people in different posts. It might be the same thread, but, there can be "sub threads" so to speak in a thread, where different people are expressing their ideas, and I'd rather have my responses to each one separate. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score As a n00b here I've found some of the post rules very irritating. I've tried to PM and post in several threads to buy stuff and I'm not allowed until some ridiculous amount of post. I understand why, but I think the system discourages a lot of users like myself. Just my opinion. |

if someone were allowed to buy/sell stuff right away, I think u would see more problems and returns of parts. People buying then changing there mind. If ur going to buy a $500 used part off someone, just think of it like sale tax, $10 to donate to the site on time thats it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score ^^ what he said. I do understand why tho, but being recommended to come here in search of parts, it does make it rather difficult/discouraging. On the other hand, the double post merge...I know there have been times where no one has posted since the last time i did, and when I do post new info, say data logs, it merges and doesn't appear I added anything new. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think the double post rule sucks, but it's a rule of the forum. I can choose to not use this forum. I also think that if someone double posts, they are to be warned, and eventually punished. Users need to be responsible and take responsibility for their own actions. Don't be a cunt and double post to bump your for sale thread. If your shit isn't selling, it's because people don't want it or it costs too much. Double posting is only effective, and welcomed, in the VIP section.

| Ok, i made a few changes to the system in regards to this to see how it goes... The whole purpose of this is to prevent two problems i saw here: 1) Post Whoring - To gain access to FS area 2) Abusive Post Bumping Ive set a post to be merged within 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it will now be a separate post. The second thing i added is that when a post IS merged within that 10 min period, the post with be auto bumped as if there was a new post. Lets see how this works out for you guys now.

| Not Ranked : 0 score ^^that sounds perfect to me! I agree w/ merging posts if they're made right after each other, but like I said, I've made posts to threads a day or more later that were merged...that didn't make sense to me. Again, I like the new setup!!! Thanks for at least hearing us out and looking to provide a solution, as a newbie here, that shows me u have at least SOME respect for your users |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for the changes. I have a suggestion for Hal's consideration. I don't personally understand post whoring, I couldn't care less what my post counts are. But, if that is a concern, as a suggestion, make consecutive posts not count towards a post count, regardless of whether they get merged or not. Even if its days or weeks later, if they are consecutive they don't add to post counts. Just an idea. |
