Default 88 Duro Trilogy review

Early this summer I picked up the 88 durometer Trilogy. My stock mounts were still fine but I wanted something better and since I track my car allot I figured I'd go with the stiffest mounts available.

Started the install after work at 5:30PM so by the time I was finished it was pretty dark. Managed to do the PMM in the dark with a flashlight. Overall the install wasn't too bad, the RMM was easy, the TMM nuts were really tight and the PMM nuts were retarded tight. I recommend a good impact gun for this job, I didn't have one and had to use a breaker bar. Got the whole job done around 10:00PM I think, I like to take my time and properly take care of every bolt.

Took the car for a drive and first thoughts were "RACE CAR", it really sounds and feels like a race car. You car hear the motor clear as day right through the fire wall like it wasn't even there, you also get ALLOT of LSD whine at lower speeds. You can hear the syncros and shift linkage working whenever you change gears. The vibes aren't too bad, there are lots at around 3K but beyond that there not bad. I use a Sparco racing seat that's bolted to the floor on a custom frame and that gives you allot more motor feel.

They work really well on the track, you can basically shift as fast as you want and dump the clutch without the motor protesting at all. Its allot nicer to heel toe now that the motor doesn't have to settle between shifts. Wheel hop is gone, you can now ease into the throttle from a stop until the tires break loose with no hop, you just lay nice black strips of rubber.

As for daily driving, I think my 2nd paragraph summed it up. It is really really loud in the cabin, you cant even try to compare it to stock. I always have random things buzzing depending on what RPM I'm sitting at. I personally love it, but others would hate it.

as you can see, you can't really compare the mounts to stock. Unfortunately I didn't get and pics of the other 2 mounts

you really feel the motor through the chassis allot more with the solid mounted seat
JBR likes this.

Great write up. I have been running the 88 duro RMM for a couple years now, and 70 duro PMM and TMM for about a year. You are right about it adding that racecar feel and sound in the cabin. When I lived in Hawaii the sound never bothered me much because there where not many places you could get up to a faster cruising speed, but now that I am in Germany that is not the case. Cruising at higher speeds and RPMs on the autobahn, the noise and drone is definitely noticeable, and on long trips it does get a bit annoying when you have passengers in the car. When I have the money to spare, I will probably pick up a 70 or 80 duro RMM to see how much that affects the noise without sacrificing too much of that rock solid engine stability.

ya, it really is preference thing. I like the racecar sounds and the drone inst too bad, although I don't drive on the autobahn lol. I always put performance above anything else.
