(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Getting Freeky With JBR Well as some of you may or may not know I was selected by @jbarone; to be apart and sponsored by the James Barone Racing Team on 10/11/2013. Thread found here (Calling out SBMS316! JBR Sponsorship Request Granted!). Shortly there after James Barone Racing was kind enough to initiate my first task by sending me a brand new 3.5” WP All Silicone intake in a special order of white ☺ and a new 51R Small Battery Tray to install and test out! Prior to having the 3.5” WP and sponsorship I was running his Power path Stage II intake system and it was great! Both intakes will be covered in this review! Also covered in this review coupled with @jbarone; and his quality parts will be the ever so amazing and smooth tuning process with @Justin@Freektune;! Also know as @atvfreek; when I first got started with Justin! Tl;dr My entire history of working with JBR and the Freek! Lets get started. Upon my return home from Afghanistan I had a BIG box of James Barone Racing and other various parts awaiting to be installed in my (at the time) unmolested 2007 Mazdaspeed GT. Did my research and I hit up Justin, talked to him for about a month and got started dat FREEK TUNE. 1st Setup I was running on 18x8” wheels with 235/45/18 Michellen PSS’s. Average Temps outside were between 90-95 degrees. Twas a hot month! Mod list: JBR PPS2, JBR TRIO 70d MOUNT SET, BOOST TUBES, RECIRC HOSE, OCC, AUTOTECH INTERNALS and COBB AP V2. NC 93 Octane @Justin@Freektune; and I started tuning on this setup on MAY 29 2013. Within the same day as getting him the beans he had a base MAP “MAP A” in my inbox. Uploaded the MAP to my AP and on I went. Just in the base MAP itself the car felt and ran sooo much smoother then stock or any OTS tune! (REFER TO THE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST FOR DATALOG FILES!) -May 30th: I had a MAF CAL, Idle Log and 3rd Gear WOT log complete and sent his way. The same night he had “MAP B” sent with increased wgdc and timing.J -June 1st: had a MAF Cal Log and couple 3rd gear WOT logs sent. That same afternoon I already received “MAP C”, moved wgdc up a little up top, 18.5 psi through the mid range and added a couple degrees of timing. Lets start some 4th gear pulls! -June 2nd: got some 4th gear pulls on “MAP C”. It was a late night and didn’t get logs to Justin until later that night. Here is a VD Progress. -June 3rd: That morning I had “MAP D” sitting in my mailbox! Added about a degree of timing. Loaded it up and that afternoon had a couple 4th gear logs and had them sent out. WEEKEND -June 6th: Had “MAP E” sitting in my inbox awaiting my actions! Uploaded the Map and went out for some logs. Logged a couple 4th gear WOT runs and sent them to Justin. This MAP was AMAZING! -June 6th to the 11th: MAP F and G Shown below just kept getting better and better! All compared together. The tuning process with @Justin@Freektune; was as smooth as butter! Every day the car felt stronger and as you can see the power steadily increased with more power. Not only more power but smooth curves! Justin answered alllll of my newb questions as best has he could allaborating more in detail on some cases! Towards the beginning of the year @jbarone; sent me a surprise! In the box was a 3.5 WP all silicone WHITE intake and Small battery tray! At first glance you can’t help but notice the craftsmanship! Top Notch just as it was when I first received his mounts and PP intake last year. It took me a couple of months before I could get the intake in and scrape up some dough for the 51r battery. I was also planning on acquiring more power modifications! 51r Small Battery Tray The small battery tray was a breeze to install! Following along with Jamies instructions as well as having a basic understanding of the part itself helped greatly! Took approx. 45minutes to an hour to complete (fat fingers) but it went in nicely and still sits perfect! The only gripe I had with the small battery tray kit was that it used a zip tie to fasten the ECU wiring harness. I grabbed a rubber coated C-clip with nut and bolt from work and it worked perfect! Style of C-clip I used for the ECU harness 3.5” WP all Silicone Intake The 3.5” WP silicone intake is an awesome piece of equipment! It’s big and meaty! Install time took me about 1-2 hours. While installing it I kept noticing that I couldn’t get it to sit down far enough to line up with the turbo. After numerous efforts of trying to get it to work I removed it to see what was going on. I noticed that the coolant line that runs under the intake sat to high preventing the intake from sitting any lower. I simply adjusted the line pushing it down the nipple a little further, which in turn pushed the hose down and out of the way. Started again on getting the intake installed and everything went smoothly from there. From there I got everything else hooked up and then got to the VC breather hose. I don’t know if it the updated VC that has the downward facing nipple or the strait nipple but I have the downward facing VC breather nipple. With JBR’s WP 3.5” silicone intakes his breather portion is towards the rear and exits out of the top. Getting a hose to and from the VC to the intake is still a hassle. I’ve tried many different setups to keep the hose from kinking but I have just ended up buying a VC with a strait nipple and that should solve my problems. All in all this intake has treated me well! At first I did my own MAF Cal to get buy with a MAP I had from @Justin@Freektune; and get the car running. I was waiting for the rest of my mods to go ahead and re-tune! (I had pictures of the problem areas as well as updated pictures after 10k miles but they were on an old phone ☹. My HPFP hardline broke last month while removing my HPFP and I chucked the phone off a wall. Lol) Night the WP surprised me in the mail! PARTS! ☺ Parts getting installed at @mzr0818;s house NATOR NC/SC HQ! WP Installed Finally got everything installed! Was in the process of another tune on E85 that was not working out to well at all. Shit was rough and my car was running even rougher! I know @mzr0818; and a lot of the NATOR NC/SC guys there helping me through everything saw the struggles I was having. My plan was to be fully tuned and ready to go by ENM but it wasn’t looking that way at all! That’s when I contacted Justin. I cannot thank this man enough. It was days before ENM and needed help. Told him what was up and we started working on it that same day! Current FREEKTUNE and Current Mods. I was running on 18x8” wheels with 225/45/18 Dunflops. Average Temps outside were between 80-95 degrees. YESS its hot here in SC during April! Mod List: COBB FMIC, J2 Catless DP, HKS CBE, AT Internals, JBR 3.5” WP silicone, GFB valve, JBR Trio 70d Mount set, NGK IX step colder plugs, JBR OCC and running on 3 gallons E85. -April 7th-10th: Sent Justin a copy of the last MAP “F” that we used in our last tuning process. He sent back to me the initial MAPS A and B to get the MAF Cal down completed. -April 10th 2014: MAP C comes in and it’s ON THE MONEY! Everything was perfect and the car had been running better then ever! I had a few months of nothing but hassles and they no longer existed! Just in time for ENM! Here is a VD and actual dyno done at Moore during ENM. I hope to have 93 numbers in the future for comparison! VD Dyno at Moore. This tune is still my current tune and is still running awesome! Unfortunaetly the E85 station near by recently shut down ☹. Justin helped me out with a new 93 Map though! All and all you can not go wrong with the outstanding parts that @jbarone; provides for this platform and amazing tunes that @Justin@Freektune; does to bring these parts to life! Any questions, concerns gripes, or complaints let me know and I will do my best to answer and or fix it !

Yes I am still running the GFB. I'd say hit up the place in Yemesse for E but it's not there anymore. I'll be checking on another source in Yemassee tommorow. Lmk if your interested and I can get you a couple 5 gallon jugs so you don't have to make a 30min trip every time you fill up just keep the cans on standby.I have no idea where that is lol. I just know it's a little strip of road that ends in the water right by the bridge that goes from Downtown Beaufort to Lady's Island Tapatalk for what!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Sorry to hear about your loss of the Eth It's magic and used appropriately (3/9 mix) it's just about bullet proof in reliability and power.I'm anxious to see what kind of power returning to 93 oct yields, and if @Justin@Freektune; is game for the experiment, I'd like to see your old 93 revision F rescaled for just the larger ID intake. You need a meth kit! Getting your car neutered by half a Civic worth of HP isn't fun. Tell Jamie to get crackin on a perfect meth solution in addition to all the other stuff he's working on!

Well I have plenty of containers so jus lemme know and there all yours. We needa meet up some time man.
As for the 93 tune, I don't know for sure but I think that's what he did for this 93 map I have. Just running down what I have leftover for E. @Justin@Freektune; would be able to answer weather or not it is the original map that the 93 map is based off of. I am definitely looking into a meth kit. Especially as temps here get well above 115* in the dead of summer .Yes I know @jbarone; we want a meth kit to go along with that FMIC kit lolTapatalk for what!
